If you find yourself in Jacinto City, the tacos at Chicharrones El Güero are good. Barbacoa was solid. Carnitas needed more salt. Salsas were good.

Job hunting - A different kind of happy ending
Yep, when I got laid off during covid, I got on my wife’s insurance. Then I got a contract job and just stayed on her plan. Hell, I am direct now and I just stayed with hers because I am lazy.

Job hunting - A different kind of happy ending
I have done two contract roles, both were W-2. Both offered health insurance and 401k, however the insurance wasn’t cheap and neither contributed to 401K. One did give paid vacation after 5 years (lol). This last time, for a foreign oil company, they gave us all the paid holidays that their direct employees got. They didn’t have to, but since it wasn’t an American company, they actually cared about doing the right thing for employees. I would do contract again, but would need a much higher rate. In fact, I wish I would have stayed at the last job and asked for the raise to offset no PTO or matching 401k.

But if you go to Las Vegas, NM instead, you can eat a pickled stripper’s ass off an egg.

Abbott being Abbott
I said it before and I’ll say again and again. I can’t think of a more embarrassing Longhorn alumnus that is in the public eye than Abbott. What a fucking dickhead. Just can’t count on trees anymore.

Well, one is better than none. If it’s any consolation, I didn’t eat again the rest of the day.- Texas BBQ

Holy shit. The texaggy thread about Maalik transferring is amazing. These fucks are truly some of the dumbest motherfuckers in the state.- TexMex
Well, you eat it with tortillas. Might need to run the numbers again.- Hey Oil Barons.......
Hmmm, now that’s an idea. Maybe the company I was at will do just that. Then when shit kicks back in and they ramp up, it’s my chance to go back. Haha.- TexMex
Hahahaha. On BBQ. But yeah, I should not have ordered the choriqueso.- TexMex
Yesterday I tried La Lupita off Pinemont. It was pretty solid. The barbacoa wasn’t as good as Gerardo’s but it was still good. I have also had better Al Pastor, but again, was still good. The choriqueso was greasy and awesome. Taco de bistec, Al Pastor, barbacoa: Choriqueso- Texas BBQ
Get there by 10:30 and you will be 15-20 back depending on the weather. If it’s cold and rainy, and they have smoked chicken tortilla soup, definitely get a cup of it.- Texas BBQ
I had it after the kstate game. It was pretty awful.- San Antonio
I have taken shits that looked more appetizing than that bbq. Just stick to the big 3 in SA.- San Antonio
I meant it as a general life philosophy.- San Antonio
When in doubt, go with two barbacoa and one carnitas. *this post is not endorsed by my doctor.- Things not going well in Venezuela
Well, I think I would like to see a younger version Ike 25-ish. She certainly isn’t bad for what I am guessing is 60.- Things not going well in Venezuela
Well, what I mean is Lula ≠ Maduro. I understand that people, especially Latin Americans, think anything left of center is basically Cuba/Venezuela, but it is obviously not. How Venezuela operates as a country and government are quite different than Brazil.- Things not going well in Venezuela
I was just talking with a Venezuelan colleague. The same one that said she was going to vote no. She is very good at her job but total scatter brain. So I told her about Brazil moving armored vehicles and men to the border. She asked why because she thinks Maduro and Lula are best friends. It’s always interesting to me how many Latin Americans can’t see the nuance in the political spectrum of their own region. Anyways, I told her Brazil doesn’t want instability in the region. Then I was kind of surprised, she was like “but Guyana IS part of Venezuela! That is ours.” Thus the scatter brain comment. I don’t really like talking to her for too long so didn’t press it, but it seems she thinks that it is Venezuelan territory, but doesn’t want to go to war for it.- Things not going well in Venezuela
Im on tapatalk. I meant not only am I too lazy to translate it myself, I’m too lazy to cut and paste hahaha. So only 95% on the vote. Kind of shocked it’s so low haha. - The "Post a Picture You Took" thread
