  1. I think it might have been harder if you were looking to actually make film as a creative endeavor, but I didn't touch that side. I went entirely technical, i.e. 3D modeling, digital animation, color grading, sound mixing, etc. I honestly thought all that stuff was a snap because it was stuff I was already doing in my free time before I got to Texas. If I had to write scripts or develop treatments, that would be the exact opposite of my skill set.
  2. I originally came in as Comp Sci, but from the get-go I came to UT because I wanted to go into Gamedev and in 2005 the number of actual universities with a gamedev degree was close to none. When I got to UT, they had just setup a new program called the bridging disciplines program, which would let you take a blend of two majors, in this case CS and RTF. It wasn't a gamedev degree at UT, but it was the closest you could get. When I switched from CS to RTF, I got to basically take the same classes I would have originally, I went through all my lower division courses in CS and took all my upper division in RTF. Embarrassingly enough I considered RTF a blow-off degree when I switched, only to not graduate for 20 years later lol. I sure as shit appreciate it more now than I would have back then. Being in RTF at the end got me into some really cool classes, including one taught by Warren Spector which was awesome. I believe UT has an actual gamedev degree option now, so I don't think the bridging disciplines program even exists anymore.
  3. I got up this morning to find a package sitting next to my door on the porch in a big "Do not bend" envelope. I waited til about 9 pm yesterday for the mail so they must have been very backed up, but it got through apparently. Tears of joy keep falling, I didn't think this would hit me so hard after I already had gotten the electronic certified degree. I gotta go buy myself a frame now. And start running to lose some lbs for commencement in May. I used to have them multiple times each week, they were relentless. From the day I learned for sure I was graduating, I haven't had those nightmares since. I've dreamed about UT a few times since then, but they're radically different than they were before. In all my new dreams I'm very keenly aware that I've graduated. I wake up in incredible moods from those dreams, when I used to be a wreck after my old nightmares.
  4. This is the funniest picture they could have used of Harden with that headline, lol.
  5. You responded in a topic directly below someone else calling someone a faggot. Do you not read the threads you post in? Weird to get mad at the person who complains about people saying faggot, instead of the people saying faggot.
  6. This is what happens when you get a Texas website run by an aggy
  7. r/confidentlyincorrect
  8. We looking for a CEO head coach? I know one that's available
  9. Did you not read the article? This is a change from THAT. As in, now you will have to order using the app during the movie. They're doing away with paper entirely. "Alamo Drafthouse locations will utilize a digital system that will let the guests browse the menu, order prior to and during the film, and pay directly from their phones." This is different than what was trialed.
  10. Doesn't this go against THE rule of the Alamo Draft House, which is no distracting phones during movies?
  11. What the hell is this? This has been building on this site recently, with no pushback. I've been on UT message boards since 2005, this is new. We're better than this, cut this shit out.
  12. Huh, just showed up. Nearly no pictures had been loading all morning for me. EDIT: Re: the pic Boy aggys sure do take pride in their losses
  13. a whole bunch of pictures on this site aren't showing up for me, like this one. Is it happening for anyone else?
  14. TIL Jordan Shipley fucking sucks. Goddammit.
  15. When I was a kid, in one of the years the oilers were god awful, my family was walking out of the astrodome after a loss and my sister found $10 on the ground, folded in a particular way. I was a little kid and said "I'm gonna find money next!" and started watching the ground intently. My family laughed, and then a few moments later, I found $40, two 20s, folded in the same way, and got to rub it in because they all laughed at me. That is my happiest Houston Oilers memory.
  16. It's insanely impressive to go 43-25 in only 67 games.
  17. I would pay good money to hear an announcer describe aggy's MNCs that way on a live broadcast. Doubly so if the broadcast was at dead dog stadium.
