and property tax and sales tax and income tax and borrowing more against the Federal Debt as our state and federal gov'ts end up paying the hospitals for indigent care. but lets just keep putting that cost of healthcare at its highest and most inefficient cost point on the Federal credit card so long as WE dont have to pay for it RIGHT NOW. its so fucking stupid. but thats essentially the economic policy of the Republican party for the last 40 years.
i think its a combination of two things:
1. the Republican/Conservative 40+ year war on everything Democrat. Demonizing the left as pure evil. and
2. a President who does not care about norms, has no shame, and does not care about anything other than himself.
both of these factors had to exist for trump to do what he has done.
nope. DOJ policy says you cant indict a sitting president. so he could murder every single Democrat and get away with it so long as the Republicans didnt vote to impeach him. And why would they? he could literally kill all of them as well and still not face any charges. its a stupid policy that has no basis in the Constitution or in our philosophy of government.
Ok, i have come around on Blood Meridian to love it and recommend it. Now that I understand what it was, I appreciate it a lot more.
I LOVED the Sun Also Rises! My affinity for it probably has a lot to do with the fact I am taking my wife to Paris next week. I loved the intimate peek into life in Paris and Spain the 1920s. I loved the style and dialogue. I think reading BM really prepared me for this one in that they were both rather random views into life at those places during the respective time periods.
I am reading the Son now. WHY DID SHE OPEN THE DOOR???
he would LOVE to go to Texas. great kid. big (tall but needs to add weight), strong, great hands. and still lots of room to improve. he started playing TE (Y) this past season. Prior to this Fall, he was a QB. So he made the switch from QB to TE in the first games of the season on JV and was so dominant that he was promoted to Varsity where he took the starting job and never looked back. i dont know if he is the guy for Texas as the TE spot in the '21 class but this is the kind of kid you hope Texas is on to this early and watch to see if he continues to develop. 6'4+, good speed, hard worker, willing blocker.
He is going to be a good one. Good size, needs to add some weight but no doubt will do so in due time. Speed all day long. Plays Rover / NB rn for LT but will probably play Will later on. Freshmen do not play on varsity at LT. This one did. He is definitely one to watch.
FWIW, Zach Evans is the best HS running back I have watched play against Lake Travis. Better than Gray or Brown by a mile. LT tried to play NS straight up and Evans ran over, around and through a very disciplined defense. He isnt the biggest or fastest or the most physical, but is excellent at every single thing asked of a running back. He has great instincts, runs hard, and is a terrific football player.
i will jump in as well with requests for recommendations. i am taking my wife to paris in mid-March for 7 days with a day trip to Reims for champagne tasting. any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. we are staying at Hotel St James. and other than the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre, i have no idea what else we should do. So for a first time, please give me your must do and see lists! thanks
when you say "pro cop" are you referring to the jack booted federal thugs that go after those innocent politicians and white collar "criminals"? or the nice local police officers that keep the browns and blacks in line? i need to know before i make my choice.
the funny thing about those Rs that would rather join Russians is they dont realize Russia has the highest instance of abortions in the world and is also has some of the most restrictive gun control laws. Its like their 2 biggest points on their platforms - SAVE THE BABIES! and NOT MUH GUNS! - the Russians are like meh... we will kill the babies and take your guns. Its insane how much they will contort the truth to fit their narrative.
its certainly possible and trump has certainly made a great case for being a moron. but innocent morons do not obstruct investigations. they welcome it and promise to participate fully. all of his conduct is akin to fleeing the scene of a crime. he is guilty AF and his conduct thereafter practically confirms as such.
- belongs in 2021 - my biggest concerns with Stone are his level of comp and his tendency to bail out at the slightest bit of pressure. i also dont like his preference to throw across his body to the opposite side of the field. talent level looks good but has some bad habits.
i dont see the Tisdale situation comp. i never thought Tisdale looked good to begin with. i dont think Tisdale ever had this much hype.
well, on LT's freshman team last year, there was Yarnell the starter, who was offered by Houston, RJ the backup, who transferred to and started this season for Westwood's varsity, Avery the third team QB who moved corner for his soph year, and 4th was Lake Mcree who moved to TE this season on Varsity and has received offers from Arkansas and Arizona.
i havent seen him outside his game against LT. he looked decent but nothing earth shattering. i thought he had a nice game. he has a bit of a different delivery. nice strong arm. made some good throws. but just for reference, he probably would have been the 4th or 5th qb on LT's freshman team last season and probably 2nd or 3rd on the JV team.
im pulling for the kid just like i do all Austin area players but i didnt see enough there to think he would be a Big 12 type QB.
