I”m gonna go ahead and disagree a bit with you. The hours are already paid for and in the budget. As are maintenance costs. And it’s a use it or loose it equation. Beating up the airspace over Kansas might be good for one mission. Perhaps these B2’s let the air wings at Eglin and Homestead come up and play before hitting the range on the way home with some blue bomblets and maybe had a tanker squadron or two join up for some practice. Which makes the 20 minute jaunt and flyover worthwhile. Or maybe it was a straight recruiting tool for a nationally televised game with some extended flight time and experience thrown in to boot. There’s a host of reasons this could be done and turned into a justifiable sortie.
Riley is experiencing his first year without a certifiable Heisman candidate under center, and their roster is cycling a bit. I don’t really care about what he does in the playoffs. He’s good enough to push this league’s shit like a Kashi enema.
Franklin would be a good coach and respectable hire, but his tenure would just be a continuation of the multi decade sister kiss that has been Texas football outside of a 5 year stint under Brown.
I guess hoping to win 1 out of every 3 or 4 conference championships in a shitty conference is asking for the moon, but I think Franklin would struggle to do so. We’re not lucky enough for Riley to move on, and to have OU hire someone truly craptastic. So we need a real alpha to come to Austin and wrangle this league into submission by its truck nuts.
My experience with hospital nurses indicates that this candy stripper’s entire body weight would equal about one pants leg worth of an average, everyday nurse.
Different times. CFB is an even bigger deal now financially as well as being the front door to a university. The transfer portal and zero eligibility penalty didn’t exist. One of the 3 or 4 best college football coaches available wasn’t polishing the Fox game day set’s seats with his ass. And Texas doesn’t have a chickenshit, man/turtle hybrid pontificating for months before making s**t hires to deal with.
Georgetown is fine if you’re hopping to the next state over. It’s problematic if your trying to get to a coast with any kind of a load. Or at least that was my experience.
Dotcom callsign is used for private aircraft that want to have their tail number, type and or owner hidden. Watch for one going into Bergstrom or Austin Exec.
Harsin’s record is pretty much identical to Peterson’s last few years in Boise. Basically, Peterson wasn’t matching Peterson’s magical few years by the time he headed to Seattle.
Harsin has won 64 games in 6 years including 3 conference championships while playing in two others and one Fiesta Bowl.
We could do worse, but shit is seriously pear shaped in our coaching search if we get to him on the Rolodex.
They lengthened TEX, and it’s a right turn and downhill to MTJ if things go sideways. Also the pistons can use both runways whereas it’s largely one way in and out for the jets. Makes it easier. We refused to go in there if we couldn’t see the airport by Cones.
Its just a gnarly place to play with diminished performance and an abundance of cumulogranite. Like most mountain flying. Set very high personal minimums as the above poster suggested, and let them be your “Ops Specs” so that you too have an easy out for the go/no go decision.
I would imagine performance would limit most visits to ski season, but just bypass and proceed direct to Montrose if you go in warm weather imoho. Black Canyon Jet Center (It May be an Atlantic now) has great swag.
The situation at Florida was more akin to Texas than OSU. I think we’d all settle for a MNC in year two. The greater point being that this program isn’t where Strong left it, and Irban should be able to step in and have it rolling relatively quickly.
Ohio State was built and running fine under Tressel. Their record under interim coach Fickel had nothing to do with a talent or culture problem.
Urban brought their offense out of the Stone Age and killed it there. Urbs is smart. Rebuilds suck. Better to step into mostly built and win instantly than slog thorough 2-3 intermediate seasons.
It doesn’t seem that hard. Offer to rewrite the lyrics a touch, and they don’t have to sing it. In return for a dollop of flexibility on their part they get to play for one of the great coaches of all time as he takes UT on a helluva run.
