  1. Highly Respected Experts
  2. And the filing deadline has passed.
  3. I don’t know. Outside of the MAGA bubble where we are it’s easy to forget that a lot of them are just now learning that Epstein and Trump were close. So they are quietly processing it and trying to figure out what to do with that feeling. Somewhere in Kentucky a single “mamma bear” of three girls by two dads who works in pharma sales ended up not going with her church group to the Melania movie. She told them she didn’t feel well, but that’s only half true; the full truth is that she’s been very invested in the Epstein cover up, and now that the files are coming out she’s conflicted about the Trumps and coming to see MTG’s point. Later on tonight, she’ll post about it on Facebook looking for others, her “friends” will attack and ostracize her, and then she’ll leave that church and get some new friends. By November she’ll be on bluesky reposting David Hogg.
  4. Why does that even mean? Rural people rely on Federal, state and local subsidy for everything, they aren’t conservatives. That’s like saying the most uptight anti-gay, anti abortion AME church ladies in East Austin are progressive because they vote Democrat. What you mean is that rural people tend to vote Republican, because that’s the color of cereal box they see their neighbors buying and there’s more of that in the store. I have no interest in what’s “fair” with respect to the parties. We have elections to decide who wins in a given district, and that’s that. I care a lot about whether the districts represent actual places and people with things in common. We aren’t talking about statewide races, but if you don’t understand that people in NPI and the Panhandle have wildly divergent needs from the Feds I don’t even know where to begin.
  5. And of course:
  6. “Mamdani and Rehmet are coddling racism” - @wildcat09 , probably
  7. Amos: 4 Hear this word, you cows of Bashan on Mount Samaria, you women who oppress the poor and crush the needy and say to your husbands, “Bring us some drinks!” 2 The Sovereign Lord has sworn by his holiness: “The time will surely come when you will be taken away with hooks, the last of you with fishhooks.[a] 3 You will each go straight out through breaches in the wall, and you will be cast out toward Harmon,[b]” declares the Lord.
  8. They were actually ignored
  9. Tough to imagine winning an election without the fuckface vote.
  10. Yes. They are very fired up about Sharia law right now because some muslims wanted to build a master planned community in Collin County called "Epic City." Even John Cornyn is dogwhistling.
  11. Oh, don't you? Bless your heart. I wonder what it feels like when people who know better "blatantly misconstrue" your point. Kay Granger doesn't ring a bell? Also, Ft Worth is the largest city in America to elected a Republican Mayor, Mattie Parker, she/her. But you do you.
  12. Taylor Rehmet just pulled off a 31pt flip of a Texas Senate seat without doing any of that, and he didn't run as a moderate either. He just ran as a credible labor Democrat on locally relevant issues - good public schools, low property taxes, union jobs and public sector unions (very relevant in that district), affordable housing, rural conservation etc.
  13. Skilled trades are about evenly split, with some interesting exceptions. Union plumbers - i.e. pipefitters, steamfitters etc are heavily democratic, as are carpenters and sheet metal workers. Machinists, locksmiths, and non-union plumbers and plumbing company owners are about 60-40 Republican. But again, most skilled trades are pretty split.
  14. This reminds me of an old joke. So a lawyer's toilet gets clogged one Sunday morning, and rather than wait until the next day he calls a plumber to come and deal with it immediately. A couple of hours later the plumber shows up, pours a bottle of liquid plumber into the bowl, waits 20 mins, and voila! The toilet is fixed. The lawyer says "that was quick, what do I owe you?" Plumber: "$550." Lawyer: "$550? You've been here half an hour! I don't charge that much and I'm a lawyer." Plumber: "Yeah, I didn't charge that much when I was a lawyer, either."
  15. Weird, it’s almost like when Democrats run good candidates and relevant campaigns about important local issues they can run in rural areas. That seems weird, because I was lectured extensively not two weeks ago by @Brisketexan about how 100% of all people who voted for Republicans in 2024 were completely evil and utterly beyond redemption, and @wildcat09 told me that this kind of empathetic campaigning about majoritarian issues was “indulging chuds.”
  16. I have zero trust in South Texas voters to act in their own self interests. The machines do there are completely coin operated and the people vote with the patrón.

  19. Meanwhile on your phone:
  20. https://x.com/cbouzy/status/2017275357066416466Oh, so Chris Bouzy has moved on from racebaiting about the Texas Senate Primary? That's good, but what's the point here? Talarico's entire public persona is based on the idea that he's a progressive who goes isn't afraid to be in conservative spaces. He was on a panel OMG. This reminds me of when the Hillary people dragged Bernie for doing a town hall on Fox. I am deeply disappointed in both of these candidates and their campaigns so far. They should be making a real case for why they should be the nominee. Instead, he's doing boring, paint by numbers Democratic consultant slop as if he was the nominee already, and she's continuing her audition for MSNBC and treating losing to the GOP as a foregone conclusion while her surrogates fight Talarico supporters on social media. Meanwhile the party is doing jack shit to elevate the profile of the race. .
