Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
Elic Ayomanor from Stanford ate Hunter’s lunch in ‘23, and that’s probably what BO&W is recalling. It did leave a mark. Funny enough, they are both now in the same division (Ayomanor drafted in the 4th by Tennessee), so potentially more matchups.

Js1, I just wanted to acknowledge your contributions to this site. I have no fucking idea how you do it, as the volume is ungodly, but you consistently produce knowledgeable and entertaining posts in multiple threads. It seems you really thrive on the women’s sports subjects, where it’s perhaps needed the most (buncha neckbearded, drunken slobs posting alongside you, who often need enlightenment). Some high-activity posters are cunts, but you seem like good people. You make Surly better. Thanks.

And Lance Jackson may be as talented as any of them, just needs seasoning and good health. (Simmons fans [I’m one], I wrote “may.”)

The annual college football magazine thread
Let’s hope Athlon’s print division is better than that trash web “content” they are putting out. Click-baitiest shit I’ve seen in a while, just repurposed (stolen) material from elsewhere with alarmist headlines. It’s even worse than the current iteration of Sports Illustrated, which has now seemingly adopted a “fans can now write articles for us” model like that trash site Fansided and the early years of Bleacher Report. The juxtaposition in sports magazine journalism has really been remarkable in the last 25+ years or so, with the web obviously a game changer. ESPN The Magazine was born in ‘98, Sports Illustrated became junk, while in the web world, BR has in recent years hired some legit writers and The Athletic has a pretty solid stable (yet still quite capable of some dumbass takes). Old man rant over, now where’s my copy of SPORT ?

Already pissed with the way that half inning played out, and now they want me to listen to Holly Rowe interview the Tennessee coach? Mute.

Tell Me About Baylor
Not sure if anyone will open this, and it’s not football, but Baylor still producing trash human beings trash. Oh, and RIP Queso still. https://www.kwtx.com/2025/05/30/james-barnes-charged-after-dead-cats-found-hanging-waco-utility-line-may-20/ James Barnes, 22, a former Baylor University student arrested in the bizarre case of two dead cats found hanging from a utility line, killed both cats with a pellet gun and recorded himself throwing the cats over the line, an arrest warrant affidavit states. Barnes was arrested on May 30 in Waco and charged with cruelty to a non-livestock animal. “Baylor University is aware that a former Baylor student has turned himself in to the Waco Police Department – taking responsibility for a situation the University maintains is abhorrent and does not reflect Baylor’s Christian values,” Baylor University wrote in a statement emailed to KWTX. “We can confirm the individual graduated on May 17, and any other questions regarding the individual should be directed to the Waco Police Department.” On May 20, Waco Animal Control received a call about two dead cats hanging from telephone wires. The dead animals were found in the 1700 block of S. 9th Street near Bagby Avenue. Ciara Dunlap was driving past the intersection when her teenaged son pointed out something strange, what he thought was a pair of shoes hanging from a telephone wire. But, it wasn’t shoes. “As we were passing up the residence, he said ‘momma, there’s cats up there,’” she explained. An arrest warrant states two dead cats were found tied with a piece of string with a shoe attached to one end. “The cats were removed and an autopsy revealed that both cats had been shot in the head prior to being tied to the shoe and thrown over the line,” police wrote in the warrant. A Waco police detective received many tips indicating Barnes was the person responsible, and when the detective attempted to call Barnes, he instead received a call from Barnes’ attorney, who said his client would not be allowed to speak about the incident. The detective then spoke with two members of a local fraternity who both alleged Barnes killed the cats with a pellet gun, the warrant states. After he had killed the cats, he brought them to a house located on S 9th and him [Barnes] and another person recorded each other repeatedly trying to throw the cats over the lines until they finally were successful,” the detective wrote in the warrant. Barnes is being held at the McLennan County Jail on a $20,000 bond

NFL 2025 Offseason
I don’t see the Stefon Diggs story anywhere, and since it’s illegal to start a new thread, I’ll put it here. I’ll admit I don’t know anything about “tusi,” but it seems Diggs does. And pussi, too. https://www.complex.com/sports/a/alex-ocho/stefon-diggs-cardi-b-called-daddy-by-bikini-clad-woman-yacht-party
