I could argue they wanted to balance getting more Euro eyeballs on it but keep it "under the lights" and enhance the circus aspect of it all.
Regardless, I'm struggling to justify it.
I'm taking a guess here without looking up the facts but I would assume Europe is the biggest fan base for F1. This would put the start around 8am GMT. If you do the "normal" afternoon start time around 3p local, that would mean something like a 11pm start time in Europe.
As shitty as it is for the Americas for an Americas based race, there is some sense here.
ETA: It also continues the theme of this particular race is a total circus.
ETA2: *6AM GMT start - math is hard. That's not particularly ideal for anyone, really...
I would walk all the time except my course's back 9 is hilly as fuck and holes 15->18->clubhouse have VERY long walks between holes. I try to walk 7 or 9 as much as I can but if I intend to play 18, I take a cart.
There are some old fucks that get out there and walk 18 every damn day. I don't know how they do it.
This reads to me as... We don't want them to fire rockets on us so we're going to subject them to the conditions that make them want to fire rockets on us.
That doesn't feel sustainable.
There is not a single team left on the schedule that we shouldn't butt fuck and that includes a rematch with OU in DFW.
Bye week comes at a great time to set us up for a strong finish. Now go execute and get rid of this shit taste in my mouth.
Red Bull and McLaren pit crews consistently crank out wicked fast stops. Obviously huge on a 3 stop race like today.
Ferrari is good enough, same with AM. Merc inexplicably is a solid meh.
*no real stats were used in this post, just gut feel.
That car is wicked fast and probably at 75% currently. Even in Singapore when they finally looked human, they were chewing through the field once they had the right tires on.
You could put Sargent in that car and he's a top 5 driver. Red Bull killed it this year.
Is this in some other thread that I missed? Where was the spy on Gabriel? Dude had runs up the middle all day and don't think I saw Hill on those plays. That smells like a dang coaching mistake.
Was one turn 13 they changed? The one that gave everyone fits?
I see a lot of black and white flags happening tomorrow if the winds stay up. Felt like that corner was just a crapshoot.
If you're getting there that early, maybe leave a tad earlier, go downtown (you'd be going against Cotton Bowl traffic), park in a garage near Dart, and take the Dart in?
