  1. And probably easier to understand.
  2. That was shitty.
  3. That hurts my head.
  4. Yep, definitely a different vibe to this team right now. Last few years I have been expecting the worst even when they were ahead. This year, I'm expecting runs to be scored even when they are down.
  5. At this point I am expecting 4th or 5th starter performance from Waino, and he is currently exceeding that. If he can go 6+ and give up 4 or less runs, then I'm going to be pleased. That will at least give them a chance to win. I'm anxiously awaiting this weekend to see how the team does in Chicago. So far they look like they won't be intimidated, but once they get to Wrigley, I guess we'll see.
  6. My wife is still there. I married good.
  7. One of my sons is at the game today with his class. Wife went with them. I am off today and watching the game at home. Crazy? I think not. Anyone else watching? A lady got nailed right in the forehead on a foul by Thames. It was pretty far down the line. When it hit her, it bounced back onto the field. It had have been at least 50 or 60 feet. Unreal. My wife texted me and said that she appeared to be okay because she eventually walked out.
  8. I would cut a mfer for a sweep tomorrow.
  9. Yeah, this schedule to start the season with this many against the Brewers is shitty.
  10. Ozuna is really swinging the bat good right now, but man is he an oddity. The Spiderman/face plant thing on Tuesday night and then getting tagged out at first last night is head scratching.
  11. I would, for sure. My boys are only going to wrestle in a few tournaments this summer, but do have at least one camp they will be attending. A little harder now with them working. There is one local tournament next month that at least one of them wants to enter. It is a take down tournament. How exactly does that work?
  12. List is invalid without Ralph Macchio.
  13. The strikeouts are a beating to watch. I do think that the starting rotation and bullpen are both going to be fine, the strikeout rate for the hitters just plain sucks. No idea what is wrong with Ozuna and Fowler just sucks. Did anyone watch last night when he dropped the fly ball in the first inning? Holy shit, that guy is horrible.
  14. Had a red cedar fall on my property a couple of years go. When I cut it the smell was fantastic.
  15. When I tell a stupid dad joke and my 5 yo son belly laughs like it's the funniest thing he has ever heard.
  16. We didn't spring for cable until the later part of the 80's, but we did have a VCR. A couple of times a year, a family friend used to give us some VHS tapes with several hours of recorded cable shows and movies. One tape would always be Bizarrre (John Byner show on Showtime from the early 80's) and 1st and Ten (HBO). I remember when my dad would bring those tapes home and how cool it was.
  17. Not in that part of Texas.
  18. Missed the first round, but watched the 2nd. Nickal is just a bad ass. For heavy I'm still calling Steveson, but there's something about the way he wrestles that seems odd. He looks bored. Maybe it's because he is really that good, I don't know.
  19. Damn near killed him.
  20. Wanted to add that I'm glad this thread is here. Even up here in Missouri my coworkers get the thousand yard stare when I try to talk wrestling.
  21. We moved from Texas to Missouri around 4 years ago. I grew up in Missouri, so it wasn't a culture shock at all for me. My boys, on the other hand, were a bit stunned. Kids participating in multiple sports throughout the year was a bit foreign to them. I wrestled in high school and really wanted my boys to give it a try. The first wrestling season comes around and I talk my oldest, who was in 8th grade, into giving it a go. I sold him on it because he's a big boy (6'4", 275 or so now in his junior year) and plays OT in football. Told him that wrestling will help him immensely as an offensive lineman. He's been hooked since. He is now a junior and just wrapped up his wrestling season. He qualified for state at 285, but didn't place. Looking at the returning heavies throughout the state, he should be ranked in the state to start next season. I also have a freshman that started in 7th grade. He had a very good first season in high school. Took one for the team and wrestled up 2 weight classes for varsity while a kid was losing weight. After the first half of the season, he finally was able to head back down to JV and wrestle in his own weight class. Ended up at 19-3 in his own weight class, 21-14 overall (yeah, he got his butt kicked wrestling up and on varsity). When wrestling was over, I asked the freshman if he was excited about football next year and he said "I'm more excited about wrestling". He even texted me a little while ago telling me that the wrestling coach was going to have open mats this Thursday after school. I think he is also hooked. Kid is harder than woodpecker lips and has a natural ability that has had him surpassing more experienced wrestlers on his team. Kid is in the gym every morning lifting and wants to attend all the wrestling camps and open mats that he can. Yeah, I'm kind of proud of those boys. So, onto the NCAA championships. I'm looking forward to a rematch of the Big Ten 285 championship bout. Steveson and Cassar should match back up in the semis in the lower bracket. I think that Steveson takes him the second time around.
  22. When my youngest was around 2 he really liked dinosaurs. When he said the word dinosaur, it sounded like 'ice-ho', or 'asshole'. We then started calling one of his older brothers (who was very surly, going through puberty) "dinosaur". Kind of stuck for a little bit and hearing a 2 year old calling his older brother asshole brought me great joy.
