  1. I enjoyed that very much.
  2. LIke a choir practice room at a parish in South Boston.

Did you know we used to have like a dozen bases in Greenland? And by Treaty we could again. There's nothing, LITERALLY NOTHING, stopping us from building a bunch of missile sites in Greenland right now. Like we could start pouring concrete tomorrow if the weather would allow. Maybe sit this conversation out.
  4. Iran is definitely getting it dry.
  5. yup. I listened to most of it until he started dog whistling about Somali's. I just couldn't take anymore at that point.
  6. JFC, this is a beating. You can tell when he sticks to the teleprompter and when he weaves, he's mostly been weaving for the last 45 minutes. If this was a rally, people would be streaming out the back.

The Canadians have mastered this. Ignore him and move on
  8. I haven't watched a full Trump performance in a while. What a beating.
  9. There's this sort of assumption that Europeans are the weakest people on earth. You can endlessly bully them and push them, and eventually they will always capitulate. "They'd never sell vast amounts of US Bonds, because that would be bad for them and they don't have the spine!!" This is the continent that brought us two world wars, not the mention the absolute butchery of the 30 years war. It's not that the Europeans kick ass and take names, but they will absolutely drag the entire globe down with them in madness and destruction when push comes to shove. The common perception of NATO is the European's relied on America for protection. But another way to look at it is the European's gave us the keys to their National Security and Safety and said "You can't trust us with it. We do bad things, so bad, we are willing to look pass your loose moral equations and hypercapitalism."
  10. All this blustering on Greenland at Davos while the Military is moving a lot of equipment into the ME makes me think that something is indeed up.
  11. I'm paying a fortune for private off campus housing and wish I had just invested in a place, candidly. The Housing shortage and prices on the West Coast are fucking insane.
  12. PUBLIC SCHOOL: Fill out the FAFSA for your child's freshman year. If you get aid, cool. If not, then you can make a strategic decision whether you want to or not in future years. For most people, the FAFSA is a necessary precursor to loans/federal financial aid, not public school need aid, depending on your finances. If you are looking at PRIVATE SCHOOL: For the love of god, fill out the FAFSA and the CSS Profile, every single year. Private schools are wildly different in their approach to need aid and you could passing on tens of thousands of dollars in tuition waivers and yearly grants due to laziness. I am fairly well off and my son got close to 30K a year in need aid from Trinity in San Antonio, plus tuition growth caps and additional Merit Aid. GO DUCKS!!! My son is a graduating senior and loved his time in Eugene. Glad you visiting in the WInter, PNW rain season is no BS. Eugene is in general pretty cool, but UO is everything. There is very little else and Springfield is a dump. The Airport is a mild pain to fly into and out of, and I often go into Portland and drive, as the Willamette is a pretty road trip, even if the towns are very meth-y. The Town has insufficient housing for big public events (graduation, game days, etc.) so if you are planning on going to a game or something, you really, really, really need to book your hotel or air bnb months out. Do not wait until the last second or you'll be paying $500 a night for the honor of staying in Salem and driving down.
  13. I said this on the other thread: the Danes should ask for some insane amount of money for Greenland and see if they can get it. It will also highlight the absurdity of his delusion while wrong footing the White House. The longer this drags where everyone acts shocked at Trump instead of laughing at him, the more Republicans will pull a Cruz and act like this as been normal all along. You gotta Out Trump Trump. Ask for 5 Trillion dollars and full statehood for Greenland and watch the SenATE GOP lose its mind.

I think the Europeans are handling this all wrong. They should ask for an outrageous sum of money for Greenland. Like 5 Trillion. Drag out negotiations for months or years. If Trump actually convinces Congress to pay it, repatriate the Greenlanders and use the money to build up your defense and bolster Ukraine. Basically get paid and move on to the new world order without the US.
  15. Yeah, I’ll believe the serious concern caucus the first time they literally do anything.
  16. Well of course that dipshit would try to take North America first instead of Australia

“Domestic” partially means the federal government. One of the biggest holders of federal debt is Social Security.
  18. The amount of hand holding my oldest got at Trinity is amazing. Even at Oregon, undergrads have advocates and help.

Kinda hard for me to believe that the people who live here are just gonna go "okay, I guess we are American's now" when the Marines show up, especially when the commander goes "no more healthcare guys" Candidly, those communities look better organized and nicer than every seaside town I've visited in America other than Bar Habor. Can you imagine how they will react to the people that brought you Galveston?
