Lol, what the hell. I grew up in Tyler and I’ve never heard of them. Sent this to a group chat of HS friends and only one guy said he had because his dad used to talk about seeing them at the county fair in the 70s. Shameful, back in the day me and the boys would have been all over a band that “paved the way for the Fantasy Rock genre and have become forged in the definition of Middle-earth Music.” Robert E. Lee High school should have had a statue of Hobbit right at the entrance.
Going in a different direction, I think Tupac would have moved away from music and likely had years of great acting performances in him. He was so charismatic and emotive, I really wonder what kind of actor he would have grown into once he aged and focused on it. Not hard to imagine him writing and directing as well.
Counter programming for the Super Bowl halftime show isn’t even new. I remember when I was a kid MTV did a special Celebrity Death Match episode during halftime. I think the Puppy Bowl is during halftime too, right? Those just weren’t explicitly and stupidly political
If that is the only metric for "achieving", for sure. It seems incredibly reductive and simple-minded, though. Sunny Dykes is also 1-0 in the semifinals round. Gary Patterson never played in one. Is Dykes a more accomplished coach than Patterson? Since Freeman was hired Sark's teams have been good enough to get to the semi-finals 2/4 years and Freeman's 1/4 years. Is that not just as relevant?
The point is, you do not hold other coaches to the same standard as you hold Sark because you are incapable of thinking rationally when it comes to Sark. You are incapable of thinking rationally about Sark because you hate him, and that colors every single post you make on this site. Since Freeman was hired by ND he is 43-11. Sark is 43-13 in that time span. Sark has been to the playoffs twice in that span, and Freeman once. Freeman made the championship once, and Sark has made it zero. In that championship Freeman lost to the same team that Texas lost to the previous round and was not as competitive as Texas was. Freeman has lost to two Group of 5 teams, Sark zero. Their average final ranking the the AP poll is identical (#11). On what basis exactly are you arguing that Freeman has achieved more?
Dumped Russell and his contract too. The firsts aren’t great (Thunder’s 2026 and Wiz protected in 2030) but this was about as good as we were going to get
Yeah, I’m not an expert on every team’s depth chart but if you can show me a program (especially one with less resources than Texas) that has every spot on their 2-deep filled with experienced OL who have been proven to be at least competent I’d love to see it.
Yeah this. We are only allowed to view this sport through the Cignetti lens on this site now, so I looked at their receiving stats. About 75% of Indiana’s receiving yards came from their top 4 WR compared to 70% of Texas’. Tired: Sark needs to rotate and target more WRs Wired: why won’t Sark tighten up the WR rotations?!
Ha, I was thinking the same thing and went and watched a highlight video that game. He was unbelievable. I don't feel like quibbling on a concept as soft as "shifty", but it's hard to imagine any qb in cfb history could start and stop as quickly as Vick, including Lamar.
Yeah, we used to steal food trays from the mall and use them to "surf" on the asphalt while hanging on to the side of our friend's Jeep. It's honestly a miracle any 16 year old boy with a driver's license and friends survives high school.
