No doubt, no accounting for taste and all that. But you’re the one that was dismissive that anyone could possibly enjoy them. I wasn’t really going after you for not liking them, just quoted as an example. The performance last night was always going to be polarizing, I think it’s cool that they leaned into it and didn’t try to pander to a wider audience.
Geese fucking ripped last night. Ballsy move playing Trinidad but they went for it knowing that a large percentage of the SNL audience would react exactly like this: We are way past any band “saving rock” or whatever at this point, but they really have something IMO
Look, ideally I would have liked to bring in at least on more IOL for the room in addition to what they did but this is just completely disingenuous. By bringing in a high level starter in at OT we did add another quality guard in Baker. Unless you think Baker will suck at guard, adding Siani addresses one of the IOL needs. If you think Baker can’t be a good guard, fine, argue that.
There are plenty that are writing off the OL next year, but those are also generally the loudest and most annoying of the posters here so maybe it’s not most. I don’t disagree with the second paragraph completely, but I do not care at all what the 9.95ers say. As for the coaches, I may be misremembering but didn’t Sark at some point say the expectation was to bring in 3 OL? We’ve brought in 3 guys
Friend of mine was in Miami for the national championship game this weekend and through some dad of a friend of a friend situation they ended up staying on some rich asshole’s yacht. At some point on Sunday they meet the guy and are talking about the game and he was bragging that he was actually invited to watch in Trump’s box but he didn’t want to go because Trump is incontinent.
This is why you are the worst kind of poster. Holy shit, Indiana hired a Group of 5 guy and won a championship! 23 years ago OSU hired a FCS guy and won one too! It’s so easy, why is our process so bad! You know, our process which I certainly know and understand completely.
You may be right, but I watched that game last night and it still felt like college football to me. I had no real horse in the race other generally disliking Miami and I thought it was a great game. I enjoyed it more than any single NFL game I watched this year. Following the sport like we do on message boards certainly feels different, but for whatever reason the game itself is still one I prefer to the NFL. As for your last sentence, sure hope we get to test it. Anecdotally, I have some good friends who are Indiana grads who were at the game and from the videos they sent of the celebration, they didn’t seem too preoccupied with how many of their contributors were transfers.
Honest questions, because I’ll admit a shameful secret, the way your brain works does kind of fascinate me: did Texas A&M have a better football team than Texas last year? By the patented BO&W binary spectrum of football seasons, was their season a success or an absolute failure? Would you trade Sark for Elko as Texas’ head coach right now?
Eh, I was just making the portal joke because generally, it’s going to be a pretty good bet going forward when a guy transfers after his freshman year he probably has one or two more transfers in him when it’s all said and done. But I also haven’t been all over this thread pissing my pants that we don’t have future nfl all pros up and down the OL two-deep. I think he’s a solid pickup for next season depth and it could be a really valuable pickup down the line. Or we cut bait with no real opportunity cost. Exactly what we should be doing and I assume we have more of the like on the way.
Elder millennial that started on message boards way too young. Longhornfanzone in the early 2000s when I was in high school. My dad would print out those long ass Longhorn Bob game previews every week at his work for us to get ready for the game. Dad is still kicking around the UT message boards universe but he became an Inside Texas guy and thinks I’m a degenerate for posting over here.
