  1. Would’ve been nice if one more person was shot dead that day.
  2. Sounds like you’re used to eating a lot of shitty chili.
  3. So what's the bad news?
  4. This fucking guy needs his ass beat.
  5. If there's anyone on this forum who knows about living without electricity, it's Armybrat.
  6. At a parent session during my daughter's freshman orientation at Oregon, someone told us that around 55% of that freshman class were nonresidents. I'm not hearing any concerns from Oregon over that, so maybe it's not driving out in-state applicants like it did in CU.
  7. Damn, even the aggy recruiting class doesn't have that much bread.
  8. Oh, we'll have elections. But him caring about the polls means he has that much more reason to use (abuse) his power to fuck with the elections.
  9. For this and other reasons discussed on this thread, I highly recommend The Price You Pay For College. One of the central parts of the book is how parents actually pay for college. But it's a lot more. It thoughtfully coaches parents on issues of how we can get too caught up on our own sense of worth based on the status and standing of where our kids go to college, and a host of other considerations for your kids' college experiences, such as career counseling services and level of faculty interaction, availability of mental health centers, consideration of women's colleges and colleges abroad, and potential value of a gap year. I recall the author encouraged a frank discussion with your kid about what you can afford and/or what you are willing to pay. Don't wait till the end of the process (i.e., "Congrats, you got into [top choice with $85K annual price]! Shit, we can't pay for that so you'll need to take out loans if you really want to go there."). Admittedly, I didn't do the best job with my daughter, and thankfully she got the merit aid from Oregon that saved me from that conversation. (She got into two UC schools and was waitlisted at UCLA with jack shit for any kind of aid, and thankfully they weren't part of the end discussion.) I remember reading this book about three years ago when my daughter was at the beginning of her college search process, and it initially scared the shit out me, but then reassured me here and there about how there's a really great college for every kid if you (a) make it about your kid and not your own expectations and sense of achievement as a parent, and (b) expand your horizons a bit.
  10. He didn't know Lea was his sister!!!
  11. How dare you compare Donald Trump to Luke Skywalker.
  12. It wouldn't surprise me if ICE is using all federal power at its disposal to hide that cocksucker off the grid so the state of Minnesota can't bring him to trial. Markinson Ross is gone, there is no Markinson Ross.
  13. So your idea of a hamburger is just a plain beef patty with no bun, toppings, or condiments? "If I want to eat something that tastes like beef, I'll eat a beef patty. If I want to eat something that tastes like cheese, I'll eat a slice of cheese. If I want to eat something that tastes like a bun, I'll eat a bun. If I want something to eat that tastes like pickles, I'll eat pickles. If I want to eat something that tastes like mustard, I'll eat mustard. If I want to eat something that tastes like sliced onions, I'll eat sliced onions.
  14. My HEB (Braker) was cleaned out in the bottled water isle yesterday evening, but otherwise was pretty well stocked.
  15. Randall's sucks and I'm convinced that it's just a laundering front.
  16. Anyone else distracted by the new cameltoe avatar?
  17. I get this clip frequently in my insta feed, and I never stop laughing. I miss Norm.
  18. Our athletic department towel budget increased by 250%.
  19. Yeah, I saw a couple posters clarify that. Again, I haven't done my taxes that early since I was a W-2 employee and I could Turbo Tax my return in 10 minutes.
  20. Like, March of 2027? Returns aren't due until April 15. If that's the case, the free Trump money won't get to anyone until after the midterms.
  21. Questions: I haven't gotten a refund in decades. When does the fed deliver refund checks? I would think that with the DOGE'ing of our federal staffing, probably later this year than usual. Whatever amount a section of the poor/middle class get from the Big Beautiful Refund, will it be enough to outweigh their current employment status, skyrocketing monthly healthcare premiums (if they still have coverage), lack of rebuilding if they're in a FEMA disaster zone (e.g., Western Carolina) where Trump has paused funding, [insert additional Trump fuckjobs], etc.?
  22. You should do your homework on Sunday just to be safe.
