  1. You didn't want to get the Peloton rower?
  2. Weird that the video cut off before they explained how this was Biden's fault.
  3. Well considering Trump tactics are harnessing the power of blatant racism, I'm not sure how Crockett is going to fight Trump with those tactics. She's sort of...inherently unable to do so, sir.
  4. Any new reservoirs will be used for AI and crypto data centers, guys. Come on.
  5. Women's League of Voters is a good place to start, usually.
  6. So why doesn't Colbert invite on Paxton to get equal time? Paxton can either decline, or Colbert can roast his ass? "The primary R candidate declined to come on the show."
  7. The sex must have been en fuego.
  8. After she loses this, she can run against Cruz later if she wants. But the correct answer is Yes, she can grind or she can fucking move elsewhere, or she can get out of public office.
  9. Did Crocket resign her office? I haven't paid that close of attention. Because can't she just go back to her existing job while she licks her wounds?
  10. "Our sources say." You don't have any fucking sources.
  11. Yup, came to post this. Roy was Cruz's chief as well. The original piece of shit behind the piece of shit.
  12. Yeah, no doubt. But I'm really stubborn.
  13. I mean, I’ll take any hope for Dresden files, because I’m going to read them. So your post is good news. But last night I had the opportunity to read, or get drunk. I got drunk. Because the book I’m reading is Fools Moon. Which is why I did not read for like 10 years, because the book I was reading was Fortress of Solitude by Jonathan Latham which fuck me I will never understand how that book was lauded. I swear every Letham book I read is worse than the one before. Read Gun, With Occasional Music, which is 10 out of 10 exceptional, read Motherless, Brooklyn, which is good, and maybe She Crawled Across The Table. Set the rest of his shit on fire.
  14. I could be mistaking them for some other folks, but I thought I read some fundamental religious takes that made me pause awhile back. I know they've been accused of racist tropes in their books, but I mostly dismiss that stuff. But the Eddings, I believe they were straight up child abusers who kept their kid in a cage and lost custody of both of them.
  15. I just don't have much bandwidth for listening to books. Currently the act of reading is as important to me was what I'm reading, for brain and mental health, etc. I've still got like 40 episodes of Last Podcast On The Left I'm cycling through (been like a 5 year commitment there) that I listen to when I'm in my short commutes every day, so that's out. Maybe when I'm done with that. Man. Dresden files are very meh so far. The stories are fine, but the guy is a poor writer. The problem is I read book one. I now....have to fucking finish like all 18. Those are the rules. But I am NOT excited about it. So the Houston public library has a couple copies of Dungeon Crawler Carl. One of them has a 27 week wait list. The other has almost no waitlist. People are...not always smart.
  16. Another vote for Confederacy of Dunces, but I'd also be remiss if I didn't give props to A Tale of Two Cities...obviously. Funny, this was also the book that started me on reading larger books. I remember being in 5th or 6th grade in a Walden Books in the mall, and picking this out because it looked cool. Before that all I was plowing through new Hardy Boys mysteries. But as a result, I blew threw these and it started me down a path of reading pretty much all their stuff (didn't know they were terrible people), then moved onto the David Eddings stuff (also, terrible horrible person yikes), and sci-fi and fantasy in general. Small world.
  17. I've finally started reading again, after years, and I've plowed through a ton of pulp fiction by Nelson DeMille, some Stephen King, some Lee Child type stuff to get back in the game. I've been compiling a huge list of books to read. Then I saw the other day that Noah Hawley, the guy behind the F/X series Fargo and the new Alien series, and Legion (all shows that are fucking GREAT) apparently also is a fucking author (and apparently he can sing). So I grabbed and have ALMOST finished this: And I'll be goddamn if this asshole isn't also just a tremendous fucking writer. Of course, I knew he was a great storyteller, and great with dialog from his TV shows. But the asshole writes beautiful fucking prose as well. This man needs to leave some talent for the rest of us. By rights, he should be 5'1" and 250 lbs. Nope, guy probably doesn't have a problem getting pussy. Allegedly he's 5'10" as well. Fucking guy. It's a good, breezy read, I'd recommend it for anyone.
  18. Sigh. I'll add this dude's books to my currently giant list of books to read. Just because of you two knuckleheads. But I'm not going to listen to it. Probably should have started this instead of Dresden Files. Woof.
  19. SydneyCarton replied to money spud's topic in Books
I read it years back. I think, if I ever do read it again, I'm going to read it backwards in real time and skip every chapter about the french canadian meeting with the agent.
  20. Homeboy doesn't get that deal playing at Auburn.
