Lol. Heating water to a temp below boiling, like almost all water heaters made for residential use do, should always be an isobaric process. This means it occurs at a constant pressure! The pressure that the water is supplied at is the pressure that the water will be delivered at, minus friction losses from piping and fittings.
I was talking to one of our maintenance guys about when the plants go down in winter out here in KZ. He was saying all the drain systems get all iced up and they have to go through and replace tons of gaskets. Major pain in the ass. And once they pressure up that’s when they start finding all the other leaks. Guessing they’ll be dealing with that sort of thing too.
Yea. I guess to be fair I only have my stuff waxed like twice a season. Ive been working in Kazakhstan since November so it’s been a real cheap ski season for me.
It’s a good way to kill some time if you’re bored. But it makes a mess and it’s not like it’s a real thrilling activity. Unless you have exactly the right wax for your expected temperature conditions it’s kind of a wash. I just pay the people.
I did some research on this when I was looking to buy last year and I never ended up finding any real detailed information pushing me one way or the other. They both seem to last fine if you keep up with scheduled maintenance.
edit to add: I ended up with the ecoboost after driving both. I’m in Denver and the V8 felt a little sluggish at altitude.
Yes, if you want to ride big mountain shit stiffer is the way to go. Even if you just want more control stiffness helps you feel like a surgeon out there carving a line. My gear was and is definitely keyed toward freeride. I previously had the stiffest Salomon boots I could find along with that dark series. I’m a bit of a powder hound and on good days I’m happiest on the double blacks and steep trees .
I only ride mervin manufacturing boards. Specifically I’m a lib tech whore . I have an old dark series with a couple hundred days on it and some nice core shots that need to get P-texed and a T Rice Orca powder board with maybe 15 days on it I picked up last year. Also got the T Rice DC boots and Union Bindings. I’m sure I paid a little name tax on that setup it rang up at 1400 all in but YOLO ya know. Snowboarding is my favorite hobby.
I used bent metal step in bindings on my dark series and they were good but I decided to switch back to strap in because I found they don’t really capture your toe like strap ins do. You’ll be fine though, just got to get them set up right for your boots.
I really don’t know where to begin. I have VTEB in my wealthfront account and it seems to be fine. I haven’t done a great deal of detailed research though. One thing I would advise if you get into muni funds is to check the state allocation. Try to stay away from high % allocations to broke states like Illinois, New Jersey, Connecticut. That’s one thing I’ve read to look out for.
PIMCO has some solid returns from muni CEFs that use leverage to juice the yields... again that’s a bit higher level of risk than a normal bond fund but there’s a lot of arguments out there that a Biden administration would be quicker to bail out municipalities than the previous one /no CR.
Baratza encore and aero press for a single cup, steel french press for multiple cups, and I just got a technivorm moccamaster for multiple cups. Can’t wait to try out the technivorm, it’s in the mail.
also you guys who are buying bulk roasted shit like Peet’s or whatever need to step your game up and find some local roasters. I prefer medium roast Costa Rican and Colombian, also found some really good Ethiopian medium roasts. Very fruity without much acid and it doesn’t have that burnt black taste.
Sounds like you’re describing Red Wings. I’ve got to get me a new pair when I get back to the states. My current ones are finally falling apart after about 6 years of near daily use in the oilfields.
I did some research and ended up on the messermeister four piece set. They’ve been sitting in my Amazon cart ever since so I can’t offer you any kind of outcome. I’m currently overseas for work. Give me a month and I’ll let you know.

Most safe - Yotta savings account. I’m storing my cash here now after trying it out. It’s getting better yield than a high yield online savings account.
less safe - bond funds. There’s A whole world of them out there.
VTEB doesn’t seem like a terrible choice especially given its tax exempt.
you can pretty go all the way out the yield ladder to HYG or JNK if you like. If you wanted to get fancy and get a little more juice you could park a little in each tranche of risk. There’s some PIMCO CEFs Ive been eyeing for a while too but I never pulled the trigger on em yet.
I’m in the process of selling a house too and about to have the same issue here in a month or so.
I agree. Good week. I’m gonna dump in a bunch of my high yield savings account money as Yotta is providing a higher return. It’ll probably be next week before those show up.
I can see from my perspective it will smooth out my weekly results. I’ll kick a few K more in soon. So far this is beating the .6 I’m getting from my high yield online savings.
