  1. Surprising he wasn’t shot during the arrest...oh, wait...Canada. in all seriousness I am kinda curious to what the bladed weapon actually was. My first thought was sword but if he went for something like a pole ax it would up the weird shitometer a point or two
  2. Everybody bitches. Everyone kicks the can down the road on pretty much every issue. Rinse, repeat. COA politics in a nutshell.
  3. Uh, yeah, they are. A good number of my German coworkers have traveled, attended their local festivals with lots of drinking, and they've reopened most everything including bars. Acting like Europe is any different than us at this point is disingenuous. They certainly did better at the start with testing and tracing but people everywhere are just tired of living with restrictions. Italy even had a little riot when they shut down a town again, maybe Naples?
  4. I don’t know about all of Europe, but Germany reopened bars and relaxed post travel quarantine requirements. People there are like people here, everyone got tired and let down their guard
  5. If that’s not attention horsing that will induce an eye roll...well, fuck.
  6. This happens yearly here in the US now. Who woulda thought.
  7. Basically it matters who killed her, because if it was the cop blindly firing into the side of the apartment/thru the glass, he was reckless and loses the protection of the law because the dude in the apartment shot first. This it should have been murder, rather than reckless endangerment. But IANAL.

  11. Immunity to other corona viruses lasts from 8-15 months is what I’ve seen commonly reported. That’s from antibodies iirc. There’s been some discussion of this in the medical thread, but the honest answer is the cdc line. New virus, and there is a ton we don’t know. In particular the inflammatory response to these infections and subsequent ones.
  12. Otherwise healthy 39 year old ending up in the hospital with multiple blood clots kinda seems like a big deal to me, but ymmv.
  13. Damn. Any clue where you caught it?

Ya I saw that live and gave it a wtf. Add to it she’s always one of the best rated linesmen in the league
  15. We look organized.
  16. Is the timeline in that quote fucked up, or did they really talk to MORE people after they suspected law enforcement surveillance? nvm, the quote is shitty.
  17. Whoops the 3B fine was Wells Fargo. Citibank was only 400 mill. Sorry, it’s getting tough to keep track of all of them.
  18. Ya I laughed at the Citibank article I read the other day. Headline was something to the effect of "huuuuuge 3B fine". Looked it up, approximately 2 day's revenue. Same thing for JPM and their fine a few weeks/months? ago. They're actively incentivized to do what they're doing. I feel like we're whistling all the way to the graveyard, but TINA.
  19. They’re just doing what all the other cool kids are doing.
  20. Right. But human nature (American, maybe?) means us vs them is always easier to sell than greater good.
  21. it was foreign enemies vs domestic. Big difference.
  22. Had the maiden voyage with the Ooni Pro tonight. Holy shit. Made 4 small pies with the Whole Foods dough mentioned above. Didn’t even last long enough to get one picture. I thought I’d never use this thing.
