The Rim might be my least favorite place in San Antonio. Car break-in central, the target there is the shittiest I’ve ever seen, the palladium is trash, and the whole area is always so crowded.
It’s PSJA N or bust. In 6A I don’t think Los Fresnos has the players in the trenches to get it done. Granted SA football outside of Johnson and Harlan is terrible this year. Edinburg Economedes is actually 9-0 for the first time ever with a prolific rushing attack but I don’t really see them putting up a challenge to a more athletic team.
I was a kid and we were driving at night, it was a pretty isolated stretch of country highway in south texas. 2 lanes southbound, 2 lanes northbound, big grassy median in the middle. I looked out the window, there was like a rapid succession of cars coming the opposite direction and it being nighttime all you could see was their headlights. I swear in the flashes of headlights that passed, in the grassy median I saw kids skipping and dancing, but they were dressed in like old pioneer time clothes.
I’d never heard of this Landry guy but holy shit is he awesome. He’s got the balls to actually call out what a racket head coach salaries are and is probably going to be remembered as the first domino in getting them back down to a reasonable level. He’s what the sport needed.
PSJA North beat CC Flour Bluff in a battle of undefeated teams last night, 19-10. PSJAN has a never ending stream of freshman and sophomores playing on varsity every year it seems, which has been key to their recent run of success that started in 2021.
His mom is latina and has a last name of Padilla. The dad thing makes sense given the Jersey guido douche vibes him and his brothers give off. I believe both his brothers got arrested after a game earlier this year.
I’ve had conflicted feelings on him. We aren’t represented much in football and I’ll almost always root for us to succeed on the football field (we’re plenty represented in other sports like baseball, if you aren’t on a team I like you can get fucked). It felt dirty cheering on Joaquin Iglesias and Zack Sanchez at OU but I would do it. Pavia is basically an exception. He isn’t really all that talented at anything but evading the rush and breaking tackles. Add in the piss incident, the fake Christian persona, the lawsuit for another season of eligibility, and live-streaming after Theo Von fucked his mom, he’s just an embarrassment more than anything. It takes a lot for me to not root for a homie playing football but Pavia pulled it off.
Coding never made sense to me as a career. That always seemed like something a computer would be really good at.
Sidenote, it’s sad to know that in the future the only “secure” jobs for humans will be backbreaking manual labor jobs. And they won’t even pay well because the market will become flooded with those workers.
It was, but per capita is generally a stupid measurement for this kind of thing. Texas, Cali, Georgia and Florida are all much better pools of talent. Florida has 5 five-star recruits in the 2026 cycle (4 excluding the IMG guy). Louisiana has 1.
I’m a well known supporter of my people but Pavia always rubbed me the wrong way. Give me Joey Aguilar all day over him. Fernando Mendoza too even though he’s cuban.
Lol at everyone acting like I said the game should start with a swing off and be done in 5 minutes. I said after the 12th. How many games go longer than that anyway? 2%? It would be rare and extremely exciting, and save bullpens.
I’m in favor of a swing-off after the 12th. It’s wildly popular with the Bananas and Manfred has brought it up on some podcasts. Soccer has it right with PKs, there’s almost no comparable amount of stress or intensity in sports. This would give us the baseball version of that. Instead we get viewership numbers tanking inning by inning last night and 2 completely fucked pitching staffs the rest of the series.
