I think one of the things with service in Europe for Americans is that we are expecting an an entirely different type and level of service. Europeans like to just sit and talk and hang out for hours at the restaurant without having the waiters bug them...Americans expect the waiter to be at their beck and call whenever they want them.
Took my GF 45 min to drive from our house here on NPI to the Bluff (she teaches/coaches at FB HS).
I think I'll stay working from home, thank you.
I did see on the Facebook that at least one person has lost a NICE palm tree. That sucks. Those are EXPENSIVE to replace.
Apparently the wind was whipping the rain around bad enough that my Nest doorbell camera told me there was a person at my front door (it's pretty recessed from the wind). It didn't even do that during Hanna...
I just got a haircut today and every station had a cute little picture with statement "Cash Tips Preferred".
I always tip well for haircuts because, well, idk, but they're making me look less ugly so I figure they deserve it.
So, I did the cash tip instead of the tip on the CC payment. Figure they get to keep more of it AND they don't have to pay as much in taxes because taxation is theft!!!!!
Dad just said that the name will be the "Beach Bum".
Original, I know.
I told him to tell them that they need to have GOOD food there. Maybe that will differentiate it AND give y'all something decent to eat.
Interdasting...just talked with my Dad (he lives at Medina Lake) and some folks he knows there are going to be opening a new bar in Port A in February...
If he finds out more, I'll post it here.
Book a refundable flight for that leg. If you make your original flight, cancel it and you've got flight credit. If you don't, you were going to eat the cost of the original ticket anyways and you still have a good flight to get you home...
Padre Pizzeria
Brooklyn Pie
or
New York Pizza Co
(I hope to GOD you're not talking about Dominos)
And actually, the best restaurant on NPI is Island Time
I will say that Guajillo's is actually really good too. It's "Tex without the Mex"
Woah...didn't know that. Looks like my fee is going from $450 to $595. I think the AC fee used to be $650 and now it's $825 (I'm Gold so there's a HUUUUGE discount from $850).
I may not renew the card now. I have an AMEX Platinum so I can get in the AMEX lounges which seem to be nicer in the places that I've been. It was hard to justify at $450...
If it's built into the cost, then then CASH payer is the one who gets buttfucked. They're paying a the cost of a fee they didn't incur. The CC user is just paying the fee that was incurred and that fee is "built into the costs". And if that fee is charged ON the CC bill, it's VERY easily tracked. And if they charge it to debit users, that's not really any different than your solution of building it into the costs.
I'd rather they tell me about the fee and let me know I have a choice to avoid it.
But, if they add that extra 3% to the price, then even cash buyers have to pay that fee. By breaking it out, only the people that will incur that charge have to pay it.
