I will say that the red chile in the south around Las Cruces/Mesilla Valley is different and better than the red chile as you go farther north in the state.
I lived in Las Cruces back in the 90s (worked at WSMR) and made several trips north. I found it weird that the red was different but the green didn't seem to be.
That said, if you're in Las Cruces, go to Nopalitos. And head to La Mesa and eat at Chope's.
Old Mesilla is kinda interesting but skip La Posta. It's gringo tourista food that's living off the reputation of a Life Magazine article written in the 70s...
Been to several...
Pastabilities in Syracuse...their hot tomato oil and stretch bread was great. The Wicked chicken riggies were as well.
Pizzalchick in Boise...not bad.
Chef Point Cafe in Watauga...REALLY tasty...in a gas station.
Taste of Europe in Arlington...not bad, nothing special though.
I'd like to try more of them...
That's why we're going to look at Corozal. It's right on the border with Mexico and the Mexican border town of Chetumal is the capital of Yucatan. Which means it's got all the politicians there. So, there's great medical care there.
There's apparently a decent sized ex-pat community in the area with the medical thing a big part of it.
Pupuseria Salvadoreno is the tits for late night drunk food. I've stopped there numerous times. Always got extra so I had hangover food too.
We're going hopefully over Christmas. Going to check out Corozal and the area there and look at property. Might get a place we can stay whenever we want and drop in the rental pool. Also going to do the real estate thing in the San Pedro area.
I'm avoiding the beach like it's covered in Monkey Pox right now. Too many tourons out there, let alone people fishing.
But, I have been out at this time before and yeah...cops, sheriffs, game wardens, and even border patrol occasionally, make their rounds. Game wardens tend to be the most hardass. I think they're pissed they have to work the holiday weekend because of dumbasses breaking the law.
His youtube video where he eats 32 Big Macs to set the world record is epic. He orders all 32 on Uber Eats and they bring all of them without fucking the order up (another world record I think).
Yeah. It's changed in the past week or so. One lane both ways AND they're restricting the traffic on the bridge they're building on 22 (you won't care if you're going to Port A, though). But, I think it's supposed to be done after Friday, thank god.
I've been avoiding going OTB because of it (thank you IGA!) but everyone who's crossed says it's bad leaving but FUCKED UP coming back (even if you do the Red Dot cheat).
I can't believe someone came up with the bright idea to restrict traffic off the island during hurricane season...
Scuttlebutt's should be back after a bit.
But, it's only quiet there in the deep off seasons between the summer tourons and the winter Texans...
BUT...right now, if you are on the island or in Port A, do NOT try to go into Corpus. Traffic is fucked up because they've got roads down to 1 lane (why the fuck they didn't do this during the aforesaid off season is beyond me and everyone who lives here).
If you have to go, use the ferry if you're in Port A. I can't guarantee it but it's probably quicker to get to Corpus that way than to drive through NPI and then go over the bridge...
Doc's and Snoopys (both under the bridge) are decent sized. And the food is good. Haven't been to either in awhile because I've been too busy but my buddies say it's still the same.
I doubt that flag would do much to the fuel efficiency. The water is going to cause a LOT more drag than that little flag will...
It looks like they attached it to the crane that is covered up in the last pic.
But...it looks like it's Beach Aggies...
Fuck if I know. Maybe some boat for some Ocean Engineering degree or some shit? But, you have to admit, that cruising on it would be pretty trashy (even I think that)...
