  1. Well, the whole co-option of the states of Texas and Missouri through the AG's offices was done very quietly. I don't think even the biggest political perverts on here warned us of that.
  2. Hell, Laura Bush: B. Ed. SMU MLS The University of Texas at Austin
  3. Christ. Fairly obviously, Trump is not going to own or operate this airport. Not even he is that dumb. But what it appears that he is going to do is attempt to license his trademark to Palm Beach County and make the county and its taxpayers pay him for the use of his name. In addition to airport services, there's Handbags, purses and wallets; Backpacks; Flight bags; Travel bags; Suitcases; Wheeled tote bags; Tote bags; Carry-on bags; Sport bags; Animal carriers; Weekend bags; Pet clothing; Beachbags; Carryalls; Reusable shopping bags; Luggage or baggage tags; Baby carrying bags; Umbrellas and parasols; Cosmetic bags sold empty Plastic slippers used in the airport environment when going through security to keep feet and socks clean, dry and sanitary; Shoes for protection of airline passengers' feet during airport security screening; Plastic socks used in the airport environment when going through security to keep feet clean, dry and sanitary; Shirts; T-shirts; Tops as clothing; Hoodies; Headwear; Hats; Caps with visors; Outer jackets; Shorts; Pants; Skirts; Dresses; Footwear; Shoes; Socks; Sweatshirts; Polo shirts; Swimsuits; Aprons; Infant wear; Robes; Sleepwear; Waist belts; Neckwear; Tank tops; Jump suits; Neckties; Flight suits So he's planning to soak airport vendors as well. 4. Wolfgang's get any run anymore? Think Wolfgang was maitre'd at Peter Lugar. The menu is pretty similar.
  5. Great news for you/her, the one undergraduate degree that really seemed to lend itself to excelling on law school exams was journalism. Not Plan II, not any other particular identfiable major. The LSAT is quite different from the SAT, however, and I think it is the one standardized test (GRE, GMAT, even MCAT), where previous success on standardized tests may not correlate. But I think SMU, Baylor and UH are pretty comparable at the "second level." UH if you want to/are cool with staying in Houston. Baylor if you're interested in smaller towns or Texas litigation practice, and SMU is a good for Dallas and statewide. SMU and UH teach a more "national" curriculum, like UT, than Baylor, which is Texas focused. That said, I haven't kept up precisely but she sounds like a good candidate for UT Law.
  6. Well, other than like the Kennedy assassination "files," US DOJ doesn't release evidence like this. The only time you'd see evidence from a criminal case would be when it was introduced at trial and made part of the public record. And that, then, was placed in some sort of context of the trial, authenticated (it is what it appears to be) and any "evidentiary frailties" revealed by cross-examination and/or expert testimony (e.g. an altered photograph, a forged signature, a forged email).
  7. It seems pretty apparent that they're not releasing that type of material, just the raw evidence.
  8. Skools should be under LoCAl cONtRoL!
  9. Most conspicuously, DHS is sending administrative subpoenas (that is, not issued by a grand jury and not search warrants, both of which would be based on probable cause) to dissenters. Some old guy sent a gmail to a US Attorney pleading for mercy for a long-time-resident immigrant who had been detained, not public, not ultra-critical). Based on the subpoena, DHS agents showed up at his house and questioned him, but left him alone ultimately, as no crime had been committed.
  10. Non-right-wing media is reporting that he resigned because he couldn't take the heat. He teaches in a predominantly Hispanic school. https://www.newsweek.com/teacher-quit-after-saying-go-ice-slams-backlash-11528234 Local news with the apparent real story. https://abc7chicago.com/post/gary-elementary-school-teachers-go-ice-post-social-media-draws-outrage-west-chicago-district-33-community/18480407/ He resigned then withdrew that, now on administrative leave. For better or worse, schools can discipline/fire over expression outside the classroom if it has a significant disruptive effect on the school environment.
  11. Was the sumbitch deported to Cameroon?
  12. Lil Marco's speech at the Munich Conference. https://www.state.gov/releases/office-of-the-spokesperson/2026/02/secretary-of-state-marco-rubio-at-the-munich-security-conference Torbush.
  13. That guy is a huuuuuge piece of shit. And in this state, that's saying something.
  14. Well, he's fatter than Trump. Also a Jew.
  15. So, yeah, when Biden's job numbers got revised down, there were accusations of book-cooking to create initially favorable numbers. Now that we have a known book-cooker in charge, what's the excuse?
  16. Question re: housing. SanJac looks pretty posh, but it's been open for a while, so I assume it's brutalist/spartan just like Jester and the rest now? True or false?
