Missouri just tried to bat a player not on their 30 man roster… And to make it worse it was Brock Daniels who has 98 at-bats this year.. How do you do that?? Yeah Jackson has to be fired at this point
5 different SEC schools have won the last 5 national titles. The gap between the ACC is definitely exaggerated as it is comparable, but the gap between the ACC/SEC and the rest is noticeable.
I might be a little off because I did this awhile ago out of curiosity but since 1990 the SEC has had a member play for the national title in something like 23 of the last 34 years
He is done, regardless of what recovery path he chooses there is only 2 months left in the season and that is if this team is playing for a national championship. He won’t even be picking up a baseball for a chunk of time.
EDIT:
I’m really interested to see how this staff uses Burns in the bullpen on the weekend now. He started last year at Arizona State and he threw 4 innings and 2.1 innings against Kentucky and Auburn respectively so he can give you length.
This staff actually has quite a few ways they can piece weekends together which will be fun to watch. First time this year where I genuinely feel like I have no idea what they are going to do. Only thing I feel pretty confident that they will do is pair Grubbs with Harrison
Apparently Penn State has been doing free admission all year long this year. Had a really good crowd against West Virginia tonight, a record crowd of 6,106.

Only part I don’t get is Burns and Moffett could use the work and throwing them for an inning or two tonight does absolutely nothing for their availability this weekend
I hear what you are saying but that is a bridge that should not be crossed until postseason play.
This happened to Arkansas back in 2021 when they lost a starter right before the end of the regular season. They had Kevin Kopps that year who made 31 appearances out of the pen heading into their Super Regional against NC State. Won game 1 21-2, lost game 2 6-5 where Kopps threw 21 pitches in relief, then DVH turned right around and started Kopps in game 3. Kid threw 118 pitches in game 3 and took a 3-2 loss in his first start of the year..
I hope they bite the bullet this week and move Ruger to Friday (possibly on a pitch count) and keep Luke on Saturday. Ruger has been the best arm on the team with the exception of Volantis.
Going to be tough without Jared, not really worried about replacing his production but it forces everyone else to take a step forward. Having Ruger on Sunday was a massive advantage and although Ruger will still deal like he has all year, you lose that advantage.
Pitching has carried this team all year, time for the offense to take some of the pressure off them
EDIT: Even if Spencer’s injury ends up being minor, he shouldn’t throw another pitch in the regular season.
Thomas Burns is another interesting piece. I like what I’ve seen from him the most out of the guys that have improved as the season has progressed.
Need your arms out of the bullpen to be on from the 1st pitch. 11 HBPs in 28 innings is concerning from Flores. I’d prefer to start him just because you can generally tell pretty quick whether he has the feel for his 2 seamer, and if he blows up it’s easier to overcome it with the whole game left to play rather than if it happens in the 7th or 8th
