Realignment talk not going away
We are moving toward 20 team conferences. If there isn't any sort of divisional structure, we are going to have to go with polls and mythical conference champions to set the title game matchups.

No, just get rid of them. They don't really serve any purpose. It just makes it easier for some schools to win titles and more difficult for others. If a rivalry is important enough, the schools can be put into the same pod or division or whatever. Makes no sense to give A&M the Vanderbilt matchup that Alabama doesn't get because they have to play Tennessee every year.

Yeah, protected rivalries shouldn't be a thing.

Left Behind: A Quick Dose Of Post Big 12 Reality
I'm expecting Kansas State and Utah to be at the top for as long as Klieman/Whittingham keep coaching.

It's not at all arguable that OU and UT are doing anyone a favor by leaving. It's probably true that Nebraska and A&M did everyone a favor, though. The have nots have used equal revenue sharing to make big strides with facilities, and it really shows when you look at competitiveness on the field.

Cal and Stanford probably aren't even in the ballpark of the rest of the PAC schools when it comes to crop judging. Just worthless academically...

Dining rooms, obviously.

Yeah. I have no idea if it will work or not, but at least it's a plan that makes sense.

UA has a quality basketball program. Yormark has a long term strategy of getting a separate basketball contract from football.

I don't think Stanford and Cal really bring anything to the ACC.

Realignment talk not going away
It was uneven revenue sharing.

I would understand the ABOR refusing to let Arizona leave if ASU were going to be left with nowhere to go. I don't understand them making Arizona stay when ASU is free to come with them.

Possible, but 5 or 6 seems more likely to me.

Keep your chin up. I bet you go 6-6.

This has to be a real roller coaster for OSU and WSU fans. Really feel for those guys.

That's a very friendly rivalry.

Yeah, and then have a late season tune-up/rest game against an FCS program like the SEC does.

Imagine getting a conference schedule against Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Rutgers, Maryland, Cal, Stanford, Minnesota, and Northwestern. Nebraska could almost get bowl eligible with that schedule.
-
Realignment talk not going away
Yes, and the champion will have only played half of the schools in the conference.

Realignment talk not going away
It's really weird because rivalries are fun and mean a whole lot more when the games you play have actual stakes. It makes no sense why BYU and Utah would prefer to be in different conferences, unless it's more of an anti-mormon thing than a sports rivalry.

Kansas State vs. Missouri Cincinnati vs. Pitt BYU vs. Arkansas Houston and UCF need to do better, but it's also their first year. At least UCF is playing Boise.

They aren't going to get a full share from the Big 10. That's the hold up. Not sure the Big 12 should take them over ASU and Utah if they are going to wait out the next media deal to try and get a full share in the Big 10.

The best thing about this tweet is that that account jokes around a lot, and I honestly can't tell if that tweet is serious or a joke. Leaning toward definitely a joke.

Yes, they truly are a conference of academic gentlemen.
