  1. Man he showed so much promise in Denver, but we all thought her cared more about his rap career than basketball.
  2. 1 OKC 2 Boston 3 Cleveland 4 NY Knicks (they beat Denver bad recently) 5 Denver 6 Memphis 7 Minnesota 8 Houston 9 LA Lakers (haven’t even seen the new team play yet) 10 Indiana (w 7 of last 10)
  3. He’s really playing his best basketball this year. I know it’s the Magic, but what a depleted lineup tonight for the Nuggs. Jalen Pickett with 30 mins of tick lolllll
  4. I was just barely getting into Texas football back then. Was 10 and moved to Austin from Vermont like 2 years prior. My dad and I were excited for the game, but I had a football game (that he coached) at the same time. I remember we set it up to tape record (lolllll) and on the way from leaving the complex to go home and watch it some asshole comes up and tells us what happened. Man what a different time.
  5. Yeah no doubt. I guess I meant we’re fucked from a roster flexibility standpoint. Tons of money allocated to MPJ and Murray. Nnaji with a big contract and for his career, underperforming. No draft capital. 2nd apron is a bitch. A lot of promise from CB, Watson, and to a bit lesser extent Strawther, so I’m glad we didn’t trade them. First round pick DaRon Holmes injured for the year who we were excited about. You know it’s not great though when Unc (DeAndre Jordan) is playing good minutes. He’s supposed to just be a coach in uniform who plays a lot of golf. Either way I’m excited for the playoffs. OKC is really the only team I don’t think we’d beat in a 7 game series in the west, every other team we have a fighter’s chance. Have tickets to 3 games rest of regular season and will hit at least 1 game each playoff series.
  6. Not to mention paying Jamal Murray as much as they did AFTER he looked terrible at the Olympics. Thank the lordt Russell Westbrook is playing well. My bro just got a signed Westbrook Nuggs jersey at a watch party here last week. More than a little jealous about that.
  7. Yeah we’re fucked. A few shitty overpaid assets we want to get rid of and have no draft picks to sweeten the deal and MPJ making boatloads of money and he’s playing too well this year for them to dump his contract. The only way we were making a move is if Watson or Strawther was included along with dead weight and Watson just got hurt. Nnaji and to a lesser extent Saric deals are looking really fucking dumb, but Nnaji has played better the past few games.
  8. C’mon man Tre is the ultimate competitor he isn’t gonna pull some shit like that.
  9. Was really looking forward to this being a statement game for the rest of the season. Now we’ve got Pryor, Shedrick, and potentially Tre injured. Not great boys.
  10. And Tre looks like he just got injured
  11. <aggy>Better than expected! Better than expected!</aggy>
  12. Any idea when we can expect him back. Feel like we’re really missing his leadership, defense, rebounding and no nonsense energy.
  13. Dammit. We should have won this game. So fucking dumb.
  14. I grilled some hamburgers tonight so at least I also had some home cooking.
  15. And the call on Mark while ball handler was pushing off the whole time. Alright I’m done.
  16. I mean the main difference is Ole Miss just started playing more physical (re: fouling) and the refs aren’t calling it. This one we’re going to have to earn.
  17. How the fuck is that not a charge
  18. About as good of a half as we could ask for right now minus Kent coming in and fucking up repeatedly. We’re not even shooting as well as we’re capable of and Ole Miss’s best runs just do enough to keep the game close.
  19. If only Royal Ivey had some head coaching experience beyond a national team. Would seem like a pretty obvious fit that would get a lot of Texas alums who went to the NBA around the program.
  20. Thanks for learning me on the behind the scenes with Shaka. Makes total sense. At least we can say our basketball hire shortcomings are getting less bad with RT compared with Shaka *ducks*.
  21. Was personally painful for me as I had hosted some friends with my wife with dinner made and everything thinking we could have a fun time chatting and somewhat paying attention to a game in hand for the good guys and watching some of the others for upsets. Instead ended up being me in shock/not in a good mood to shoot the shit with people that couldn’t care less about the result of the Texas game. To this day I still don’t understand how Shaka failed here but was successful at VCU and now Marquette. It just doesn’t make me super confident that any new hire will really excel here. Beard looked like he was gonna be that guy, but then stranglegate occurred.
  22. It would seem with Ole Miss not being strong on the offensive glass bodes well for us.
  23. Completely agree with points 1 and 2, but your take is also seeding doesn’t matter until it does. So seeding matters, just not as much as how well your team is playing down the stretch. Our identity is a collection of scorers who don’t really play cohesively well and has started to play good d, but can’t rebound. Will be very interesting to see how we finish. As JS alluded to, down the stretch schedule is much easier than first 4 games in conference, but we need to beat Vandy or Miss St away and upset one of Bama or UK and win the games we’re supposed to win to gain momentum heading into the SEC tournament. 2 wins in the SEC tournament with a strong finish in conference should put us in that 5-7 range with some confidence of being a second weekend team. Will we be better with Chendall Weaver back on the floor? We need the rebounding help and he’s a beast on that front and our best defender, but whose minutes will he take? Kent’s? Larry has been looking good lately as a distributor and on ball defender. I don’t think we sacrifice Pope’s minutes much either with his scoring potential. Excited to see if RT can earn his money and get the most out of our iso ball team. Kaluma, Pope, Mark, and Johnson are as good of a set of scorers as we’ve had since our elite 8 underachieving run in RT’s roster inheriting year, and all are experienced, Johnson excepted.
