Letās face it: weāre never going win anything until we figure out why weāre so plagued with injuries every season. Now Trossard (who has arguably been our most influential player) likely is going to be gone for a time. Again.
Rice looked out on his feet around 65ā. Who knows his status or Mosqueraās for an early kick away to Villa on Saturday.
Also⦠second disjointed performance without Trossard. Need him back soon.
Three points and onward.
Expected rotations. Zubi has played a lot of minutes; this should have been a NĆørgaard match had Saliba and/or GabiXL been available.
Lets. Fucking. Go.
Would have taken a point before the match with Saliba missing. A bit disappointed not to win after playing ~ 60ā up a man, but point each is a fair result. Credit to Chelsea, though. They looked better after the red card.
Onward.
Ben Write is either deep in Artetaās doghouse or still not 100% healthy to start, because this is the sort of match in which his experience would be needed.
The real kick is two guys who have never started together are the starting CB pairing away to Chelsea. While both are no doubt talented (Hincapie started for Leverkusenās title winners), two new guys upsets defenseās the unspoken communication. Stillā¦
Lets. Fucking. Go.
First time we havenāt had either Saliba or Gabi XL at the back since, what, 2021?
Massive test today. Three would be ecstatic, but I think I agree, @Ted Lange. Seven from these three matches would be damn good work.
Some wins are just, well, better than others. I couldnāt sleep, still buzzing from the win, so I poured myself a nice Glenmorangie 18yr to aid with my enjoyment of this thread. Little brother will always be little brother.
This win, while partially exorcising Bayern demons past, also takes a lot of the heat off our remaining league phase matches. Given ourselves a great chance to finish top eight, and can rotate heavily ahead of the following weekends EPL matches.
