2022 Fall Camp: Drippin'
So even though Card knows the playbook in and out he's still throwing just as many picks as Ewers (and 4 fumbles in the scrimmage)? Sounds like Card is a bad fit for the scheme if he still can't execute. As for Quinn I'm gonna continue to beat yall down with my Mahomes comparison. Here's an article from 2020 talking about his lack of skill in reading the defense. Some guys are just gamers and can just go out and perform. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2879589-chiefs-qb-patrick-mahomes-says-he-didnt-learn-to-read-defenses-until-last-year.amp.html

2022 Fall Camp: Drippin'
If Hudson does start for whatever reason then it will be closer to what we saw last year where Casey came in pretty early with meat still on the bone. If Ewers does start then I dont think we see Card until it is 42-10 or more and he comes in for the last quarter or so. No reason to waste two full games of experience by letting Card get run around by Bama when Quinn can get all of the kinks out of his system before we reach conference play.

2022 Fall Camp: Drippin'
That's what I got out of it. The 7 on 7 drills they ran allows the DBs to cheat routes since they are 4 on 3 and know what side it goes to. Card still cant keep from throwing fastballs to players 8 yards away. On the flip Ewers relies on touch a tick to much but the more reps he gets over the next two weeks the better.

Boyd wrote up a report on the practice video and said in favor of Card that the "the results here were really quite one-sided" and the "battle really isn't close"

He was gonna be 3rd string in his 6th year. Retiring now is a non factor for Kelly or LSU

Seems like all of Quinns positive reports included throwing Neyor the deep ball. Wonder if him being out forced Quinn to not rely on the big bomb and be more thorough in his reads.

2022 National Rankings (AP, Coaches, CFP) Meta Thread
We have not started the year unranked since Charlie was here when we started, and finished, unranked in all 3 seasons. In total we have started unranked in 5 seasons (1990, 2011, 2014-2016) and only finished ranked once in 1990 coming in at #12. https://www.collegepollarchive.com/football/ap/appearances-preseason-team.cfm?teamid=66

Fantasy Football/Pick 'Em League Loser Punishments
Curious what your fantasy/pick 'em league loser punishments look like? A group of friends and I have started punishments this year for our pick 'em league. We are going with the Waffle House challenge but instead of 24 hours we are shortening that to 12 hours and each waffle consumed cuts an hour off.

The UTSA game sets up well for us. I do think they take a step back but it is early enough in the year that if we win convincingly then people will call it a quality win regardless of how the rest of their season goes.- 2022 Fall Camp: Drippin'
He tried that last year with Thompson in the Louisiana game and it felt cheap that Card didn't get to put the nail in the coffin of his first start. QBs need confidence and rhythm especially when they're young and imo that's why Card struggled last year cause he never got a full game from start to finish to get going.- 2022 Fall Camp: Drippin'
Card obviously had his issues last year but Sark did him no favors by never letting him get back in a rhythm. Not to be a Card homer but I think he would have developed nicely with more game reps. That being said I think this competition is over and the closed practices are just Sark trying to be Saban like and not show his hand ala Tua/Hurts a few years back.- Tell Me About Texas a&m
The aggies started to claim financial superiority in 2018 when Forbes published a report saying they were the most valuable team even though the list was based om revenue and not actual value. They always fail to mention that they passed us up solely due to contributions for the Kyle field renovation and Fisher contract. From the article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/chrissmith/2018/09/11/college-footballs-most-valuable-teams/- Tell Me About Texas a&m

Then Huston starts at guard by week 3 and Campbell takes over at the other guard or center by week 6.- Realignment talk not going away
MSU just paid Tucker the same deal that Kelly got at LSU before the new TV deal kicks in. I think part of why Kelly left was because that deal and the Franklin deal set a new floor for elite coaches and obviously ND couldn't hold onto Kelly. What happens when these new TV deals pay 100/year and ND has to convince coaches not to take a 50%+ raise all guaranteed?- Realignment talk not going away
20-30 Million is a lot of money to turn down even for ND. They lost 2 of their Big 3 coaches this year and while money may not have been the biggest factor in each it will only get worse if they are 30 million behind. If Freeman starts winning then what is stopping Penn State or Michigan State or Nebraska from using that surplus of 30 million to pry him away. These programs that weren't able to make money with donor subsidization will suddenly all be profitable and those same donor funds will/should be reallocated to NIL and facilities upgrades. 30 million may not matter if that was the difference over a decade but per year is a whole different animal.- Worst National Titles in CFB History
This may be a bad interpretation of the topic but that 2013 Florida State team may have been the worst championship team of that decade. Feels like Bama was rebuilding and would have won had the kick 6 not happened. Plus nobody else was super impressive that year and all we cared about was the 2014 playoff. The Bama/LSU debacle a few years earlier was a worse title but man that FSU team was as forgettable as they come. - 2022 Fall Camp: Drippin'
