Yesterday I got a nice surprise. My wife brought home a 1st edition of "The Winchester Book" by George Madis that she found at an estate sale.
Damn - that's an incredible book. I spent all evening flipping through. The level of detail and the photos are amazing.
Now she's pissed because I liked it so much and was so grateful that she wishes she had saved it for an Xmas present instead of just laying it on the counter and asking if I wanted it.
"All of these problems are fixable."
That's pretend accountability. Being truly accountable is not acknowledging what the rest of the world already sees. It is fixing the problems before they are displayed on national television and the way you do that is through coaching.
Coaching football or any sport involves recognizing weaknesses in the opponent and exploiting them, while at the same time recognizing them in your own team and either fixing them or minimizing the impacts of them during the game.
He keeps saying everything is fixable......then quit talking about the labor pain and show us the baby.
Yeah - I can still buy ammo directly from Lazzeroni. I actually traded emails with John Lazzeroni last week and he's behind on his ammo production right now, but its available.
I'll probably just stockpile the brass for now in the event he ceases production. I really don't want to start reloading at this point in my life.....maybe later.
It's an incredibly versatile short action round.
I've shot one of his "real" rifles (not a Sako version) in 7.82 Warbird which is the long magnum and it was a damn death ray.
We'll see what happens.

Well, I screwed up and bought a Sako 16 chambered in 7.82 Patriot by Lazzeroni. It was NIB and I got it for less than what it retailed for back in 2011 before Sako discontinued their rifles chambered for Lazzeroni.
Now I'm stuck. Do I finally take the plunge and start to reload (at the most costly time in history)? Gotta put nice glass on this since it is a long range laser and I have nothing sitting around unused. That's not cheap.
I do this shit over and over.....get a "bargain" that ends up costing me a small fortune.
All my good deals seem to be like one night stands that turn into a costly marriage.
Thanks - such an odd thing to go from a great signal and now be set back 10 years to what it was like back then. My group who has been out regularly this spring and summer says it has been consistently bad and not just an anomaly.
I have to think that Verizon relocated some equipment on tower and thus made a material change in the coverage for this particular area.
Appreciate the ideas - I'll report back.
I don't get out to my hunting camp as frequently as I used to due to a re-location. In the past I had decent reception...enough so that I could even use a Verizon MiFi hot spot to stream, check email, etc. on a wifi signal.
Haven't been out there in 9-10 months and something has changed on a tower somewhere and reception sucks now. I have a very weak signal that bounces between LTE and 4G.
I need a booster to at least be able to make calls and get some data flowing for emails, etc. even if I can't go back to a streaming capability.
I've got about a 2500 sq ft area with bunk houses and a kitchen/bath unit in a U-shaped arrangement with a outdoor living area in the center.
What are my options? I'm willing to spend some money within reason.
When a a gorilla is fucking you, you don’t get to tell him when to stop.
The gorilla will stop when it wants to. I may still be alive but I very well may be dead, The choice is his not mine.
That’s my experience.
Grace gave me a moment of clarity to go ask for help before I instinctively picked up again, but next time I may not be so lucky.
I used to think “I” sought help and could do so again.... now I believe Seal Team 6 (in the form of Grace) swooped in and reduced me.... all I did was get on the helicopter. I didn’t plan or execute the rescue and next time that Grace may not be enough to rescue me. YMMV- but I’m not willing to take that chance.
The desire to drink or even the reminiscing thought of a drink hasn’t crossed my mind in years. I buy the stuff for others frequently and often find myself as “bartender” when we entertain at home.
However, I am vigilant to keep any alcohol off of my lips. A near-beer scares me to death. I’d rather be thirsty. I only make anything that looks like a cocktail at home when I mix it myself and am careful to watch my glass to make sure there is no mixup. At any restaurant or bar, I won’t order anything even resembling a mixed drink. Water or tea only. I’m not willing to risk having a tonic and lime become “leaded” by accident.
I have no idea if a near-beer or accidental sip or two of a gin and tonic would trigger the cravings or not, and I’m certainly not willing to risk my life to find out.
Palmetto State Armory's parent company (JJE Holdings) picked up the DPMS, AAC, H&R, Parker, and Stormlake brands in the Remington bankruptcy.
Obviously that means PSA will be in the suppressor business now....may have already been mentioned up-thread.
Of other interest, following the bid, PSA has dropped some hints in various online forums that they intend to bring back the H&R M1 Garand.
If they do a good job with it, that would be an interesting change in the market place.
New or LEO turn in?
I ordered a couple of turn-ins back when SOG was still in business. If you aren't set on buying new, I'd look for an older turn-in or used gun for sale.
If you have any quality concerns, all other things being equal I'd lean toward an older version.
Some stock on which I just got an alert via AmmoSeek.com

Freedom Munitions also shows to have some reman and I've had good luck with them too.
Not quite as the article headline appears.
Was missing for 2 years - estranged from family due to an abusive relationship (on land). Decided to commit suicide by going in the ocean. Maybe only hours at sea.
Try SGAmmo.com for the hunting rounds and LehighDefense.com for some .300BO subs. Lehigh makes incredible ammo and they show to have the subs in stock.

The Holy Grail for Colt collectors. Made famous by stories (maybe not historically correct) about Wyatt Earp.
I'm thinking a Category 5 makes landfall on Christmas Eve, throws it in reverse and then takes a second run inland again on New Years eve to round out a finominal 2020.....
PSA test is more reliable than the old digital exam. Many places only do the digital if you have a strong family history of prostate cancer, but a normal PSA.....done as a double check, or maybe just b/c the doc likes you.
Yeah - by destroying the meat you do tend to invalidate the study. Why even run the test if it isn't applicable to the way ANYONE who wants a dry aged steak will actually consume it.
When the only flavor or juiciness comes from the A-1 slather on it, that tends to affect the results.
"Let's run a test and see how well a Prius handles at 200mph.......Yeah, I know a Prius won't go 200mph, but shut up - I got a research grant."
