  1. Not getting any easy explosives. Like to see more playing making out of the skill players. Turn 5-10 into 40-50
  2. If you end up wearing down Georgia in the 4Q to pad the average, I’ll be very happy. I don’t think Texas OL should rely on that vs SJSU. It about the level of competition
  3. It is vs San Jose State. The gave up 263 and 4.7 to Central Michigan. They wore them down late in the game to make it look better. You would like the run game to be dominant vs cupcakes
  4. the OSU grades were not great. Baker looks to be a weakness (first 2 games, so he can will get better). Manning moves well in the pocket. Making the pass pro look better Y
  5. Saw Niblett out there blocking on a couple screens. That might be a physics problem
  6. It a much more vertical offense this year. that adds volatility. Add in that Arch and Livingstone (crazy) are the playmakers on this team. Arch is really up and down, so that just adds more. OL just isn’t consistent
  7. I expected Townsend to be that uber-athletic TE that is more WR, than TE (especially early in his career). He got after it blocking, which surprised me and will get him on the field quicker
  8. Not concerned about Townsend. he showed way more blocking ability than expected
  9. Little concerned with using Nibblett as a blocker on those WR screens.
  10. Just too many inconsistencies. The OL and penalties have me most concerned. Texas was 73rd in penalties last year also
  11. More concerned about the penalties. Average distance was 9.7 yards. That is more of a 1st and 2nd problem. Texas went 0-6 on 3rd and 9 or more.
  12. Nice blocking by Wingo downfield in the TD. Not sure that scores without his effort
  13. I have noticed he doesn’t always give great effort when he isn’t expecting the ball
  14. It’s true. He struggled with throws 5-7 yards all day. That throw was one of the better throws he threw in the game
  15. that was last year. I put Banks in the "monster" category. Goosby grades looked really good, because overall the OL did not grade out well.
  16. just for context Banks 88.2 overall (89.9 pass/82.4 run) Goosby was solid, but not in the monster tier yet.. 70.0–79.9: Average/Starter. The player is meeting expectations for their position. 80–89.9: Good/Above Average. A grade reflecting solid, consistent, and high-level play.
  17. I just used AI on the Texas grades. You can do the same for Bama. I dont feel like goign through Bama, since we dont play them.
  18. It was only 11 snaps, but I would definitely argue for more snaps for Neto to get a bigger sample size to make the decision
  19. neto: 65.6 overall (80.4 pass block/63.2 run)
  20. Yes.. He was the only one PFF graded at starter level. Baker and Stroh...oof
  21. Pieced together the PFF OL grades: PFF grades: DJ Campbell: 60.7 (69.4 pass/57.9 run) Connor Stroh; 44.9 (64.3 pass block/39.1 run) Brandon Baker: 41 (35.6 pass/55.3 run) Cole Hutson: 63.2 (52.7 pass/63.8 run) Goosby: 73.9 (77.9 pass/69.2 run)
  22. You did not comment on the fact that Livingstone had a step and was 1 on 1 and appeared to be running to open grass. If that was a TD, you would not have said a word. That is the main component of this. The examples I mentioned. 1 was a caught, but the process was terrible. The other was an incompletion and the process was terrible. Those were WTF moments, this not in the same ballpark as those
  23. Look at the bottom picture. Both guys have a step on their defender. This is not a bad read. Off the top of my head the check down, when the over was coming open and the deep ball to Wingo when Arch misread the CB bailing were bad reads. You can have a preferred option here, but you are not saying this is terrible decision. There is difference between a BAD read and a QB taking what he is comfortable with. Texas generally avoided the middle of field all game, I am sure that had a lot do with the scouting report on OSU safeties.
  24. not a doctor, but I think most doctors would say every case is based on the individual. There is also the mental aspect of injuries. Sometimes it takes a while after a guy is fully healthy for him to trust his body fully. Not the answer you are looking for, but I dont think even CJ knows when he will be the same.
