  1. He supposedly has had a very good camp. I do think we may see him this year. Colombus is not the place for that though. I would guess blocking is something he needs to work on (just based on him being a freshmen).
  2. I fully expect Texas to be much better at Rb. The biggest reason is Texas went basically 1.5 deep last year. Baxter was out. Gibson was unusable due to fumbling issues. Blue was boutique RB. He was good in space but really struggled to get the tough yards or run between the tackles. Wisner was forced to carry too much of the load and wore down late. He was not a force between the tackles either. You could easily make the argument that RB was the weakest position on the 2024 team. I could also make the argument that the biggest difference in the game last year was RB. Treyvon hit the big plays and Judkins got the tough yards inside. I do not think that gap between the RB rooms will look the same for this game.
  3. More talking about seeing the run game become more of a downhill focus. I would bet a lot that the aDOT is significantly different this year. We saw that last year. Arch had an aDOT of 11.1 vs 5.9 for Quinn (i thought it was in the low 7s, but AI just shot out 5.9 quoting PFF).
  4. Defense is absolutely physical. Little tougher this year with no spring game. I have been steadfast that I expect changes in the offensive philosophy this offseason, but you are correct on me needing to see it. We will see changes, just how much is the question.
  5. Listening to OTF talk about physicality. I really hope we see a change in the offense. Texas led the nation in passes under 5 yards and were an outside zone team. Tough to be physical when you so much of your offense in on the outside. Heard about more snaps under center this offseason. Really hoping to see much more of a downhill approach on offense, instead of the horizontal attack.
  6. I get that, but this is a legit excuse. Apologize, but I cannot watch the game at home because Fox and YouTube are in a battle. Will work on some, not on others.
  7. Found the best alternative is to find a bar and watch the game. Seems to work much better antennae, especially since you have a built in excuse to go. Why waste it
  8. Here is an example. BeastTV : #1 Choice IPTV, Over 25K Channels & 8K Quality 1 month is $12 for 1 TV, if you want to try.
  9. WR is silly. Golden played a quarter. It’s no worse than a push
  10. If OSU features Klare that is a good thing. I would rather see Klare is catching balls underneath, than Smith and Tate catching balls. You are not going to put resources into stopping OSU from dinking and dunking to their TE all game. (Probably more pertinent to @6th Street)
  11. This is coming out of HS. All 3 could end up being 1st round picks, so this story could have a few more twists and turns. Right now Wingo is definitely behind the other 2
  12. I remember a ton of cover 3, but that was a year ago. Texas absolutely lit Michigan up in the flats. might have been Quinn's best game as a Longhorn.
  13. Who is going to be surprised? Its projected to be Tua, Wilson, and Quinn.
  14. I dont know who is on OL or DL, but there was more pressure than I anticipated
  15. Think this has been posted in other threads, but I really recommend watching this if you have not. Gives you a good understanding of how PK held that offense to 21 pts and his general defensive philosophy the last 2 years. If Texas can play the box light and stop the run again, Texas will win this game. (Michigan has done this also).
  16. Cheapest way is to get an IPTV service. They are cheap and they usually have all the channels. Plus you get all the regional Network channels (i.e. ABC chicago, austin, NY, Miami, Clev, new Orleans, LA, etc). It can have buffering issues and they can be a bit sketch, but usually under $50 for3 months.
  17. I am talking about someone that has at least 5 years experience and some success. Wilson is just a draft bust that has yet to show anything outside of having a piss poor attitude. I would not call him veteran QB, he is a reclamation project, but each to their own
  18. Key to the Texas defense the last 2 years was being able to stop the run with even to light numbers in the box. It would be a massive deviation for PK to go into Columbus with a game plan to stack the box. Last year Texas dared OSU to run vs light boxes and won the LOS. They didn’t employ a lot of bracket coverage. They sat mostly in a 2 high shell pre-snap and mixed coverages. The safeties were spinning around at the snap of the ball. Everything was about concealing the coverage pre-snap.
  19. based on the preseason Miami is going to be scouring the waiver wire for a veteran QB.. The gross negligence at the position this offseason borders on criminal.
  20. I saw Scip say “It is year 5 of the Sark era. Have we seen the Sark offense?”. We just may get to see it this year
  21. Their DC was really bad. That defense will be much better with a competent DC
  22. It’s Klubnick and the schedule. They are the most likely team to make the playoffs. Clemson will run over the ACC. I am not convinced they can win a NC, but they are my favorite to be the #1 seed in the playoffs. I’d be shocked if they lost 2 regular season games
  23. No argument there. Every coverage has it uses. My argument is more about being stagnant in coverage.
  24. I am not sure pressing the most physically gifted WR in the country is a great idea. Day is not a moron, he will have plenty of man beaters in his play book. We saw crossing routes in that film. Cover 2 man is not a great run coverage. You are asking for front to stop the run game with honest numbers. I assume OSU will try to establish the run game. That said If Texas can stop the run with honest numbers, OSU will struggle to score. You are assuming an offense with a QB starting his 1st game is capable of executing 10 play drives to score. I am not convinced that is the case. That is generally something PK bets on. Is it a bad game plan to force OSU to execute, bet that Texas will get them behind the chains over a course of a long drive, and lean on your pass rushers to end it? Relying on press man will require 1st round NFL CB talent and that is not even a lock, because OSU has 1st round NFL WR talent. I could see PK mixing in more coverages. We will see Cover 3. He can also mix in some Cover 3 Cloud (roll up a CB to the flats on one side). Throw in some man and Cover 2/4 and some blitz packages. I think the worse thing to do vs a new QB is let him get comfortable with the coverage. That is why I brought up Ewers vs Bama. Sayin is a talented QB, if he knows where to go with the ball, he will have success. Mix up the looks make him hold the ball an extra second or 2 and hopefully that allows Colin to impact the game.
