I’d argue the establishment clause of the first amendment is similar actually. Part of its purpose was to protect the churches already established in various states. In our mythology, we think of many early colonists fleeing persecution in Europe in search of freedom of religion; other than Rhode Island, it was often more “freedom to establish our church and now be the persecutors instead.”
Similar on the field? Probably not. Similar in terms of scandal? That’s how it always ends with him-see OSU, Florida. Intellectually lazy is assuming we’d be the exception.
I assume he’s taking about the Mindy McCready thing, though even she claimed they didn’t have a sexual relationship till years after they met.
Edit: yeah, was typing that when he posted confirming.
So you say you want to recruit a hangman and then have (I assume) the condemned listed as if they are recruiting targets.
Your metaphor is pretty poorly executed.
Oh, I was referring to your persistence in making that same comment over and over and over again.
No one is thinking about Meyer unless they’re an abject moron. So you might actually have a point about some of our BMDs.
That’s semi-correct. Even with the housing allowance, they still have to pay property taxes if the buy a home. The housing allowance is supposed to be accountable too, reflecting either what was actually spent on housing or else the fair market rental value (so you can’t just declare your whole salary as a “housing allowance” in other words.) And even then, that money is not subject to income tax, but it’s still taxed for social security.
The church has to actually own it and provide the home as part of the compensation package. It sounds as if your friend owns the home himself, at least based on the way you put it, in which case he'd pay property taxes just like everyone else.
Churches do it both ways these days. It used to be much more common for them to provide parsonages. In the last couple of decades in particular, they have started selling those off and are just paying more in salary so the minister can own his own home and they can get out of the landlord business.
Wait, what? The same Roy Williams who had the worst drop rate in the NFL his last 3 years in the league?
You guys realize that just because you play WR - even just because you're a really good WR - it doesn't necessarily mean you have great hands, right?
I hate the proliferation of EDGE to describe a 4-3 DE/3-4 OLB type.
I don’t mind the term itself, but it annoys me that it’s all caps when all other positions are abbreviated with one or two letters. It should be Edge, abbreviated with just an E. The only potential confusion would be with DE, but it effectively replaces that anyway.
We don’t say a guy plays CENTER or SAFETY. It makes no sense.
