Wooderson for Governor
I’m not commenting on what should or should not be policy. But that statement will prevent you from being elected as governor of Texas any time in the foreseeable future. It’s just reality.

Wooderson for Governor
Good luck tempering “Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15.” That’s the sound bite I play over and over and over again running against him. And it will work.

He likely blew that chance with his comments on gun control.

I believe the point is that the RCC is officially against capital punishment. This has nothing to do with abortion (except tangentially-how does her Catholicism inform her stance on each issue).- List of Must Read Political Books
I’ll go in a somewhat different direction, as I’m mainly interested in the intersection of politics and Christianity. If you are too, here’s a couple of classics and a new release this year (and if you’re not at all, just disregard):- NPR story on student loans
Come on, now. It’s one thing to point out the flaws in his reasoning. But if you’re going to critique verbosity, it seems rather, ahem, stochastic to start here.- NPR story on student loans
I spent a year at ACC before I went to UT. It's not because I wasn't a serious student, but because I did not go as a freshman (went to UT Tyler on full scholarship and hated it) and then took a couple of years off to work. Even though they had accepted me as a freshman, after I took time off, I found they wouldn't take me initially as a transfer, presumably because there was that gap. So I saved my money, moved to Austin, knocked out a year of basics at low cost, and then transferred in. It was a great solution for me.- Texas-Kansas game postponed
The ccg is 12/19. They built in an extra week off at the end of the season too for this sort of thing.- Texas-Kansas game postponed
Sets us up perfectly to go into the final game needing only to beat lowly Kansas to make the conference title game...and then be their only win of the year.- NPR story on student loans
Community colleges are cheap, and state schools are too (relatively speaking). I believe the biggest culprits here are small (and not so small) mediocre private schools. Well if you want to take the term back to its origins, Hispania included modern Portugal.- The Trump Presidential Library Thread of Doom

It’s more that this is gibberish. I don’t know what you’re arguing for. Or against, for that matter. Or how it’s relevant to the thread.- Thanksgiving/Christmas Political Family Fuckery
Also I’m defending @bad_teammate and I feel gross.- Thanksgiving/Christmas Political Family Fuckery
I was obviously being snarky, but on a serious note-it’s easy for you to say it’s not a “sound argument” when holidays are something you don’t value at all. He obviously values them highly. We already have different inputs. Then when we’re talking about “risking your life” there’s a lot of variables. What precautions are in place? How careful are the people who will be attending in their lives right now? How many will be there? Is he in the at-risk group? There’s a vast chasm between half a dozen healthy, responsible family members who always wear masks and social distance outside of this and a super spreader hellscape of 100 extended family members, friends, and neighbors coming from who knows where and playing spit-in-the-face of the 400 lb geriatric diabetic. You can’t evaluate the argument without accounting for all of that.- Thanksgiving/Christmas Political Family Fuckery
In a stunning development, it turns out people value different things.- Thanksgiving/Christmas Political Family Fuckery
I get not gathering with 50 people. But if everyone is following proper procedures in the rest of life, I don’t see any reason why a small group is a big deal. My family doesn’t sit around and talk politics. I wouldn’t want to be around that no matter who was in office.- Take the L, Pussy (Documenting the Coup Until Trump Concedes)
This is where we need an eye roll as a reaction option.- 2020 Presidential Election -- Biden v Trump: Sleepy Joe vs Dopey Don [Results begin on page 409]
I checked this out because I couldn’t believe it-and, in fact, he’s 35 now. But still. I would have guessed 15 years older, give or take. That’s a rough 35.- Take the L, Pussy (Documenting the Coup Until Trump Concedes)
It had already been negotiated and submitted for ratification prior to his inauguration. Strange thing to get bent out of shape over.- Nancy Pelosi is a badass MF and I want her to be Speaker
