So, am I getting another $3900 check? Should I?
Fair enough. To be clear, I’ve been VERY critical of churches on this board. I’m just coming at it from a different perspective. And I didn’t see anything to disagree with in your post from half an hour ago, for instance.

I’d already chimed in last night. It seems your alarm is faulty.

Clearly.

My church is a distribution center for the Houston Food Bank. We feed hundreds of families every month, and that number has only gone up since the pandemic. And we’re not an especially large congregation. I’m sure there’s a similar story for many, many churches.

They made the 2007 NFC championship with an over the hill Favre, 2 years after Sherman went 4-12. He’s not Belichick, but comparing any adequate coach to Fisher is insulting.

I mean, he admitted it when he said it it was an example of economic privilege, so....

the trump election lawsuit thread of dominance
Maybe this is the difference in women’s fashion and men’s style, but for $3,000 you could go bespoke and it should last a lot longer than 5-10 years (and it shouldn’t be a black blazer, either).

That's the day electoral votes are counted by Congress.

There better not be any warning beacons lit then.

Comparing what the Astros did to what other teams did would be like if the Democrats filed a bunch of frivolous lawsuits contesting the election too.

The boogeyman: a mythical creature used by adults to frighten children into good behavior. Appropriately ironic.

I’ve never been a Herman fan, but I think Meyer is a scumbag and want no part of him. I’m blissfully ignorant of the thread on the football board, and will, sadly, continue watching faithfully no matter who is coaching. I guess I’m saying I can see how one could fall into that trap.

Who could have imagined that a swinger's convention could spread COVID?
The 41 infections included 39 men and both of the women in attendance.

I clicked on this because I misread it as baking and got excited to see some cold weather holiday treats. Very disappointing.

Almost as bad as his take on Bonhoeffer.

Is that like being a little bit pregnant?

Amy Coney Barrett
If it's making an allowance for religion that other gatherings are not getting, isn't that letting religion dictate policy... like in a theocracy? Even if we stipulated to that interpretation of what’s transpired (and I don’t necessarily agree-see Brisket’s post), that’s still not a theocracy. That argument is akin to stating that there are religious people here-just like in a theocracy!-therefore, theocracy.

Amy Coney Barrett
It’s not any more unreasonable than the, “OMG THEOCRACY!!!!” responses.

Nah, I wasn’t thinking of resisting Caesar, but of being a broken record. It was a joke.

Yep. It takes some serious partisan blinders to read it the other way.

Wooderson for Governor
I think you underestimate how that kind of rhetoric will alarm some outside of the “redneck gun nuts.” It’s a definite shift from his position during his Senate run (as he admitted). It doesn’t seem like the best strategy to influence the significant portion of voters in Texas who voted against Trump but were still otherwise R, and who’d almost certainly be essential to a win anytime in the near term.
