  1. It is. But apparently Big Bertha isn’t the largest drum in college football either. “Even with a margin for error, that's smaller than the size of the University of Texas and University of Missouri drums. Purdue's claim to possess the "World's Largest Drum" was starting to look like what politicians delicately like to call a "stranger to the truth." “ https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.indystar.com/amp/3691109
  2. I wouldn’t call Travis a “failed sports writer.” Unfortunately.
  3. I know it’s a joke, but there’s even 57% among white evangelicals. Basically, I have no idea what his point was.
  4. It appears the overwhelming majority of religious people have been vaccinated too, so…
  5. You're not my type anyway.
  6. I don’t own a single pair of flip flops, a fishing shirt, or any casual shorts (I have 2 pair for athletic stuff).
  7. When I do it at home, it’s chopped up, and the result is much more than 1 strip per taco. It’s also not burned to a crisp, so I guess I’m in the minority on both counts.
  8. That same thing happened in Fayetteville Saturday, except it was on the field.
  9. We were already dead, bled out, our guts strewn all about the field.
  10. THAT was embarrassing? That was irrelevant. And THAT was embarrassing.
  11. We ran this exact same offense and went 5-7.
  12. I bet if you took a poll, it would be 95%+ who would prefer to play Rice to UH. They suck. It’s basically official athletic department policy.
  13. This is a false dichotomy, though. Rice is the cupcake game. Tech is the mid-tier game. You’d play both, plus a marquee OOC opponent, in a given year.
  14. The 2 for 1 road game is good because it gets us in Houston occasionally. It’s one of those small things that might give an incremental boost to recruiting in the area.
  15. All of this. Don’t get all the angst.
  16. His barometer of running back greatness is...Travis Henry? That pretty much says it all for his scouting ability.
  17. I, too, make all my medical decisions in consultation with Pink Floyd.
  18. Nah, the first pic would have been Catherine Bell.
  19. We can’t all make monumental contributions like this thread.
  20. Counter-counterpoint: 1) Slavery was outlawed in Texas by the Law of April 6, 1830, which predated Santa Anna’s Presidency by several years; 2) That doesn’t account for the numerous other Mexican states that rose in rebellion against him. That the Texas “revolution” was partly motivated by slavery and that Santa Anna was an actual tyrant can both be true.
  21. Are you referring to that “improved” political compass that also had a thread this week? It seemed to interpret any answer that indicated belief in God as a sign you wanted to implement a theocracy.
  22. That’s the Catholic teaching that Mary was conceived without original sin, to be accurate.
  23. We really need an eye roll reaction for posts.

Seriously? The NFL is the worst about it.
  25. The only players I see huddled up and taking a knee are the other team.
