Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
He said, “Words” can fuck right off. But, yeah, I’d prefer he not say it.

Hey PK -- What would you say you do here?
Agreed. Blue’s fumbles and Cook’s drop allowed them to stick with the run more than Texas’ defense did. Protect the ball, and catch it, and Texas may have gotten 10 sacks.

You’re telling me what I want to believe, too, so I like to see it. If I can get the bottom of the order out without showing the top of the order that I have a curve, why wouldn’t I? With my burnt orange glasses on, the appearance that Texas had the confidence to stick with the generic plan is encouraging in that they didn’t see MSU doing anything that was going to threaten the outcome even against a defense that was designed to encourage them to do what they were doing.

Yeah, because that’s how the stats work. For every team. Not just Texas. Sarkisian literally said the defenses goal was to take away RPO passes, force passes to be dropbacks, and good luck driving the field four yards at a time. And that’s what they did. Some of the tackling was poor. Some of the execution was poor. But Texas’ defensive strategy was “fuck it, you can’t beat us that way, so have at it.” There was no reason to do anything different. So, like you said, it’s not the end of the world. Texas played the run differently than they’re likely to against a team that’s more of a threat and, even in a situation in which it got no priority, MSU got six points and a TD on a hold.

I pray Ewers didn’t say “natty,” though. Could be an indicator of a concussion.

I mean, it ended up being 3.0 a carry.

Yeah. Not defending the missed tackles. The TD should’ve been called back. It was frustrating to watch but it was exactly what they wanted to happen, just with better execution. There was no need to anything. Sarkisian basically did the Lucius Fox “good luck” for driving four yards at a time to win.

2024 Season Thread and all the shit in between games
Seriously? All they need to do is get Texas to play a bland ass defense, showing not much, against a team they’re going to choke out, while daring them to score 4 yards at a time. Ugh.

It also leaves out a defensive penalty and automatic first down, so…

Hey PK -- What would you say you do here?
There were too many annoying runs, but I don’t remember a lot of long ones. Did they ever go for more than 15 or so?

My Samsung remotes can call up a number pad. I feel certain Apple could make their box do it. Hell, YTTV could add a UI button to pop up a number pad.

Then don’t ask whether the question has ever been asked if you’re going to say you don’t give a fuck about the answer to the question when it was, in fact, asked. Sarkisian also doesn’t need to worry about satisfying you. If he thinks pulling Ewers is the better answer for the team long term, I’m sure he’ll do it. If not, then not. What is it, exactly, you’re looking for other than agreement, here?

Cord Cutters Thread
Yeah, it can be multiple, depending on what you’ve done in the guide. I don’t know that that keeps it from being easy, though. It’s cool you have something that works for you. I still don’t grasp why these streaming services don’t let you attach numbers and make you click so much, but there must be a good reason.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
It was asked a couple of years ago and Sarkisian’s answer was that he never considered pulling Ewers. Happy to help.

Depression, OCD, and whatever else ails you between the ears
One of the things I try to explain to people is that things that would have pissed me off if someone else did them just didn’t matter when she did them. She liked long nails and iPad games… tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap. Anyone else? Can you fucking not? Her? Have fun, beautiful. Hell, I started wearing less burnt orange for her. We sent over 30,000 texts. I was retired and she had a ton of free time at work. I can read those things and be taken back to a particular date on a particular night and feel like I’m there again. The whole scenario is a pile of garbage, but we were in contact almost every waking moment and it still didn’t feel like enough, and now… zero. Fuck. I’m still in the “this is a living hell” stage, but some thoughts that used to make me utterly miserable now make me utterly miserable, but with a smile. I’d still burn down the world for five more minutes with her, but my memories are slowly, slowly, slowly tilting toward treasured remembrances and away from knife in the liver agony. I do want to thank you and everyone else who has responded or messaged me. It really does make things a little less awful.

Getting old does suck, but the alternative isn’t great, either. That’s an awesome story. We also had the stereotypical “girlfriend/french fries” scenario. From our first date, whenever I got something with fries, I turned my plate so that the fries were toward her, so she could get to them easily. It wasn’t a huge thing, but she mentioned several times that it made her feel connected to me that my first inclination was to include her and share with her, basically subconsciously. As has been made clear around here, I’m a borderline autistic jackass but being around her made me almost normal. She didn’t meet my family for six months. I told her that no one who knows me, literally no one, would believe her if she told them how much I talk to her or how affectionate I am with her or how much I compromise with her. And no one did until they saw it. Right after my daughters met her and we spent the evening together, my younger daughter sent me a Snapchat with a surprised look and a “Who are you?” caption. She was fucking magic.

Depression, OCD, and whatever else ails you between the ears
Too late to save my edit. That woman loved sweet breads of all kinds. One morning about six weeks after we met, she was talking about some cinnamon bread someone had brought to her office and how she kept going back to the kitchen for more. I told her that I was eating an Apple fritter and couldn’t put it down. She said, “then you know how hard it is to resist.” I said I didn’t resist. “It’s like you: brown and sweet and impossible to resist.” So Fritter became her nickname and I honestly think that one random sentence is what hooked her enough to give me a real shot with her.

The luckiest day of my life was the day I met my GF. I guess that probably makes her birthday the second luckiest day of my life. Well, today is her birthday and even though I don’t feel especially lucky right this very moment, she’s still the best woman I’ve ever known or will ever know. Happy birthday, Fritter. Holy fuck I miss you.
