GP is blowing up right now. When I bought my 70s I tried on the Laureato and it was extremely nice. I know it stands on its on merits and I really liked the watch. But I just couldn't get past the fact it was the Avis of Genta-inspired watches. I was looking for something more unique. Moser is about to blow up... guessing this summer. It will become the IG summer brand. Lots of money moving into alternative brands in this crazy luxury market. Moser has brand recognition and cachet, and it's sold in high end ADs next to all the other high end brands. They are hugely eye catching whether you like them or not so it's relatively widely known and recognized even though it hasn't gotten main steam popularity yet. Some of their high end limited edition pieces have already gotten hot and exploded on price as availability is extremely limited. Look at the price of the Streamliner Centre Seconds... Selling 50% above retail. Other models will follow as they make an insanely low number of watches. Watchbox, with the huge influx of MJ and NBA money and built in tie-in with celebrities, is about to dictate demand for luxury watches that aren't just Rolex/PP/AP. Czapek work the Antarctique and PF with the Tonda are beginning to follow suit. Both of these are amazing watches. Even Glashutte Original is slowly becoming more difficult to get for some watches and secondary market prices are slowly rising. Work only 4,000 watches made pretty year, it dies by take much demand. Now is a pretty unique time to get into non - Rolex/PP/AP and not lose your shirt. With smart purchases they will likely go up in value. Look for IG friendly high horology independent brands (yes I know GO is officially in the Swatch Group but they leave them alone) with very low production. Definitely not a bad time to build a relationship with your AD. With some of these brands it's much easier start getting access to some more high demand limited releases.
Losses wouldn't have helped me last year, so didn't dump then. ALPP I've already rolled a majority of the profits into other investments but still holding a few thousand shares that I should have dumped in the last run up but held out in case it went crazy with the uplist. I'll probably hold to see if they pick up over the course of the year as (hopefully) Covid and supply chain issues work themselves out. Holding TURV because my shares are barely worth the fee to sell them.
Good info on ALPP - seems like it will bounce at some point once the supply chain issues get worked out. I've made so much on it, I don't mind holding onto the last vestiges until it bounces and it seems like it should at some point.
HMBL - it would be really nice to see them get their shit together. Did see this announcement, which appears to be a step in the right direction. HUMBL Launches ACH Integration
That's really good news on TURV. Not even worth the cost to sell it right now, but hopefully the new BoD will get things moving in the right direction.
Thanks for the info guys!
Anyone have updates on TURV, EGOC, HMBL, HOMU or ALPP? Any recent news or anticipated news that will impact these materially? Looking to liquidate some of these and roll into better options going forward.
No worries, I got excited when you said that because I'm looking to liquidate some of my collection and have on few of the originals and 3 other colors. Was thinking that would be pretty damn nice.
Any issues talking nyquil to relieve covid symptoms? Seems from doing my own research it should be fine. Symptoms are currently minor and I'm vaccinated. But starting to get a little congestion and small fever.
Not sure if it's every been mentioned in this thread but Fratellis on Westview and Wirt is fantastic. Every time the food has been delicious and the service extremely friendly. Highly recommend if you're looking for an Italian option.
I have one of these on the way. I've heard the finishing is pretty good for a relatively inexpensive microbrand. Probably too small for me but figured I'd give it a try.
