Not looking like it will happen right now, but going through the Steelers, Pats and Bills on the way to Houstons first Super Bowl appearance would be very cathartic for the city.
That's not the point. Name the teams in the NFL or NBA that willingly don't spend money on players and pocket hundreds of millions instead of being more competitive. There are least half a dozen teams doing that every year in the MLB, and it's often several of the same teams. If you think that's a good thing for the league, then I don't know what to tell you.
Nice D by Jabari there, Randle has been doing that spin move shit all night, and he's anticipating it to try to prevent the move from getting around him. Dante was getting really physical with KD before that foul call. Pretty obvious illegal contact, but they wait until he knocks KD over to call it.
Every other major sports league has figured out that having a salary cap and a floor works best to keep the league competitive and relatively fair. The MLB continues to ignore this fact due to "tradition" or whatever those owners looting the TV cash at the bottom of the list claim. Cap and floor go hand-in-hand to help balance the league competitiveness, and I would expect a good sized floor of $150m, that increases every year, would force some of those shitty owners to sell their teams. Dry up some of that profit stream and they will bail, because they never cared about baseball in the first place.
The TV deal revenue is incredibly imbalanced, which is what that tweet is referring to. The Yankees are number 2 in TV revenue and made nearly 80m less than the Dodgers. Being able to pump that revenue back into the team is a huge competitive advantage in a league with no spending limits. This next CBA battle is going to be a doozy.
It's unlikely he would come back because the Rockets would be past at least the 1st apron, and probably past the 2nd. They would not have free agent money and would only have the cheaper exceptions to sign new players.
Yes, you absolutely have a duty to do that in order to keep up appearances and make the hive think you aren't a threat. Work on the solution in between smash sessions and do what you can to work out a plan to save humanity.
This is a great explanation of the show and the way different types of sketches make you feel about the characters. Some great points, and a very interesting new phrase to me describing the show "Sentimental Absurdism"
Missing that throw to Nico was a drive killer. What an opportunity to easily get in FG at the very least and get some points before half. CJ is just so mediocre as a QB now, and he really hasn't grown much since his rookie season. Maybe he just needs a QB guru to teach him some stuff, but something is clearly missing from his arsenal. He's missing throws that aren't the offensive line's fault. Anyways, if you want some light reading for Halftime, here's PFF's Offensive line rankings for the year. Try to guess where Houston wound up, you won't believe that number! (hint, it starts with a 2) https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-final-2025-nfl-offensive-line-rankings
I doubt many of you watched the Steelers/Browns game a few weeks ago, but this is exactly how they played the Browns Defense. Quick throws, lots of runs, extra blockers in the backfield when trying for a longer route. They were so scared to let Rodgers get sacked that they forced the offense to play this short dinky game. They scored 13, and I don't think they had a pass completed more than 15 yards down field all game. It wasn't terribly effective, but given the Browns terrible offense it won the game. I think they are using the exact same playbook tonight.
Eason will be an RFA. Any offer he gets this off-season will be available for the Rockets to match and keep him. Teams can only offer him money from free cap space or an exception, so it limits his potential earnings. He may not even get an offer and just accept the QO from the Rockets for like 10m. Not a bad deal for the team either way, and it's what they should have done with Jalen Green. Anyway, I don't think there is much they are gonna do, the field is truly wide open for anyone to have a Cinderella year with some luck like the Raptors did that one time. Should be less sellers this season, so I'm not sure there will be much available :(
That's like 30m in salary, what PG would you target with that money? Also keep in mind if their contract is 2 or more years remaining, they will need to work with FVV in the lineup next year. I would imagine they are shopping DFS and Capela to see who they could get for cheap, or under 10m. Maybe Schroeder would be an option, but there aren't a lot of game changers that will be available.
