Not to be overly critical of anyone’s message board brainstorming a particularly perplexing issue (I appreciate the thought and respect the boldness), but I want to be on the call when Steve Sarkisian calls up Jeff Traylor and G.J. Kinne and offers his coaching expertise in exchange for their most promising players. Those guys (and others in the profession) think they know just as much about football as he does, as they may be right. I think trying to recreate the Odessa Permian-style model of feeder schools running your schemes in college will be a bridge too far.
Watching Coleman’s season highlight reel, it was legitimately difficult to assess his YAC ability because most of the catches were 50/50 balls where he had to battle a DB for position. I think we’re all expecting Arch to continue on the trajectory of the last half of the season, and if that version of #16 shows up throwing dimes with anticipation, Coleman will think he’s playing a different sport than the one he suffered thru at Auburn.
Brisket and pointy toed boots levels of fun? Let’s hope whatever this is works out better than those Michigan fucks. Thanks for all you do, it’s appreciated, you Tom Herman looking… person man. (I ran out of steam.)
I’m no Ian Boyd (and for that I’m eternally grateful) and think I’m a personnel expert, especially for OL, but I just watched the tape and there’s plenty to like of him putting defenders on their asses. A couple times when he seemed to be slow sprinting downfield was because the LB was slow playing and didn’t want to engage, so Sikorski slows down to get the angle. And I’m sure he’s improved in the last two years and gotten stronger. Plus, there’s actually a shot him playing wildcat QB, running it in for a TD 😂. Would seem to indicate his coaches thought he had good athleticism.
Thanks for thr video. Giant kid, yet despite the college OL weight gain regimen, still seems pretty lean (ie not a fatty). Background as a DL would seem to indicate versatility and athleticism. Obviously nervous at the beginning of the news conference but found his way as he went along… smarts and adaptability! 🤣 Welcome to Texas, Dylan! We look forward to much success.
Coleman hasn’t made an announcement. It’s just Lucci being a dick and making it seem like Texas is in the lead, so it will be seen as a loss for us should Coleman go elsewhere. So, a win for aggy even if they don’t get him.
It’s funny Junior Bonner posted photos of four actors in his celebration post because if you’ll recall from his recruitment, Zion’s favorite thing wasn’t football but drama class. Let’s hope he’s now serious about football and can later parlay his future Austin acting contacts into something more “dramatic.”
Small dude but feisty. The first time he trucks some dude five inches taller and fifty pounds heavier, he’ll become a fan favorite. Will be able to do many of the same things Keilan and Blue could do in the passing game plus get tough yards inside. We could still use a bigger dude as a complement, but Raleek is a great get.
Sark and Brandon Harris are like Louis Winthorpe III and Billy Ray Valentine waiting for just the right moment to buy back all the shares of Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice and corner the market. Or maybe it’s sell them, I’m never really quite sure. Fuck the Dukes, and the Sooners and the Aggies, I guess that’s what I’m really trying to say. Look at that S car go…
I seem to recall Washington’s best highlight in his time at Texas was a catch in the spring game. And at a game this season, a scrawny kid in a cowboy hat sat next to me, spitting every so often on the concrete steps, enough to piss me off. I got over that annoyance and noticed he was cheering extra hard for Washington. Turns out he was his roommate. I seem to recall Trey Owens was a roomie as well and Livingstone was apparently supposed to also room with them, but he got the sweet setup with Manning. It seems Arch is losing quite a few of his buddies.
