  1. Awesome news, MIA! Super happy for you. Holy shit, gnarly indeed!
  2. McMurtry in the Gallery last night. Damn good as always with a decent range across his 35+ years of albums, although a little heavier than usual from the last 3. Heading to NYC tomorrow for LCD Soundsystem and other shenanigans.
  3. There's a good chance I'm in for this. Immamac's Zilker home is stumbling distance from my place and at the moment I have no travel plans.
  4. Man, you are one dumb motherfucker.
  5. I assumed he was posting as William Bludworth these days.
  6. I left Green Mesquite with a to-go Frito Pie maybe 20 minutes ago... and it's one of the best things I've had this year.
  7. He once held an opponent's wife's hand... in a jar of acid... at a party. Finished it this morning- great series.
  8. That's exactly what Big Sinkhole wants you to think.
  9. Looking good. Wreck 'Em!
  10. Maybe there'll be an update in 10 days or so. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/white-house-nine-universities-compact-federal-funds/
  11. Prolly stepped away to watch some kiddie porn or molest a few kids.
  12. 43-20 Tech. Wreck 'Em!
  13. No, absolutely not. That's up there with the dumbest snake oil shit I've heard all year. Don't ever talk to that person again.
  14. Agreed. I'm neither vegan nor vegetarian but ended up eating there a bit and everything I ever had was damn good.
  15. I watched it a couple of years ago after seeing the first few episodes of s2 at a film festival shortly before it premiered. Those episodes were so wtf/ridiculous, especially without having seen s1, that I later watched all of s1 and then the remainder of s2 as it was released. Giamatti being in s2 is what got me to commit. Overall it was fun, but like a lot of stuff from Spain they get so hung up on religious-oriented tropes that it becomes tiresome/laughable. I get that it's just their culture, but after watching a lot of their stuff it has started to wear on me. Fun series and I was bummed they stopped after s2.
  16. Yeah, that was the joke dude
  17. A lyric from James McMurtry's Talkin' at the Texaco comes to mind, "It's a small town, son, and we all support the team."
  18. Tim Holt for a quite a long time.
  19. McMurtry at Continental Club last night. I've attended his shows there fairly regularly for over 20 years now and must admit that I'm glad it's at 10:00 these days instead of midnight like it had been for ages (although the early Gallery shows have always been an excellent alternative). He played a wide range including a few from his new album and as far back as 1989, closing with a powerful/heavy version of Too Long in the Wasteland and a fun one earlier on from 1995 (Fuller Brush Man). He still draws a big crowd- we're lucky to have such easy access to his shows.

Maybe they do and just don't mention it? I hit a stretch in my late 40s - early 50s where it kinda freaked me the fuck out for a few years as friends started dying more often, getting diagnosed with cancer often, etc. but I mostly kept my concern to myself. I didn't mention it to friends, but all of a sudden it was on my mind 1000x more often than it ever had been before.
