  1. In Texas I can't recall the last time I purchased something locally that wasn't from CA, CO, or locally grown. I haven't seen anything from Mexico in ages (7-8 years maybe?). I'm sure some people here still sell weed from Mexico here but I sure haven't seen it in a long time. As for financial markets getting thirsty for it, that ship sailed years ago and has gone up/down quite a bit the last few years.
  2. ...the preferred brand of North Austin moms
  3. "OMGz I sneezed and had a runny nose back in January" (neither of which are particularly covid-specific) "I totally had it!"
  4. Because they've automatically decided they already had it without being willing to consider any other possibility (these are the morons I'm referring to, and I've met more than a handful).
  5. Yeah, there are plenty of morons who got sick early in the year and think they had Covid
  6. I bought one from Saatva a couple months ago (the Loom & Leaf) and it is fantastic- absolutely awesome.

Maybe the Vader pants... with a Wolf Shirt up top.
  8. I voted Saturday, while fairly drunk. I was doing a walkabout from my place into downtown with a backpack cooler full of beer. As I passed the downtown library after crossing the river (one of my usual stopping points for people watching on these activities) I stopped in to see if I could get in to use the bathroom. The guard at the door asked, "Are you here to vote?".... "Sure" I responded so he let me in. After relieving myself in the bathroom I wandered over to the voting room. I was the only person there besides the staff. I voted, hit the bathroom again (I was at least 8 beers in at this point) wandered off and smoked a spliff to celebrate.
  9. I mean... he was just tucking in his shirt.
  10. Hooray racism? What the fuck- these people are fucking awful.

Agreed @Snow Dog... gonna DM you about an upcoming outing
  12. Dignan: "Bob, you're the zero out here in the car."
  13. ^ FACT I've been to the Lake Austin Blvd. location a handful of times since they opened. It's damn nice having them back in the area. Their trailer behind Star Bar was a regular-ish lunch spot for work since it was a close walk to the office and we certainly missed having it as an option. Each location seems to have a noticeable variation in heat for the same named spice levels. The trailer seemed to have the hottest version of each spice level where the Burnet location was a little more mild... and Lake Austin Blvd. seems the most mild of each spice level between the three. That's not a complaint, simply an observation.
  14. With you as the face of the University most would choose to go elsewhere- what a fucking beating.

Oh high! I'm still partaking, currently really digging the Strawberry Banana strain. Somehow I fell out of following this thread after the transition to Surly... will take a look around.
  16. She probably heard about your 4Loko incident.
  17. Well, I guess it goes from God, to Jerry, to you... to the cleaners. Right, Kent?
  18. I visited Balmorhea in 2016- it's a fun little place and a bit of a surreal feeling being at the pool and looking across the desolate landscape toward the mountains. The night before I did one of the Star Parties at the McDonald Observatory during a new moon- it was bad ass.
  19. It's gorgeous. I spent a long weekend on some property that had very easy access to The Narrows. We spent all day out there 2 days in a row and never saw any other people. Krause Springs is a good one and a scenic drive as well, but as jimmyjazz mentioned, I think it'd be pretty damn tough to distance there... but it is open- maybe keep it on the list for post-pandemic swimming.
  20. Jane Wiedlin mentions that the 2nd bassist (Kathy Valentine) wrote Vacation while in her previous band (the Textones) and brought it over for for Go-Go's album. The original version is playing in the background during that segment. They don't mention Carla Olson, although her name shows up as credited to the B-side song of the Vacation single when the segment opens. They also mention that without that song on the album the outcome would've likely been very different for them.
  21. It turns out there's very much a reason and why its a worthy story. I had no idea- very worth watching.
