  1. Yeah, no doubt. I don't have kids, so no dog in the hunt at all. I've done a good bit of mentorship over the years, though, at work and for friend's kids given that I have or had a somewhat unusual career path that is extremely hot right now or has been for a few years.
  2. I guess one thing to consider is this. For better or worse, MBA still seems to be a solid credential for any business-y pursuit. And the best MBA programs like to see a couple of years in the real world from applicants. So, it's a decision that really doesn't need to be made now, it can and probably should be deferred until after graduation. And, even the best-laid plans of an 18 year old can change, even if it doesn't manifest in a bunch of major-changes.
  3. Sometimes, I think that's a product of the school. A lot of ivy-types and pretenders eschew the BBA as too "professional," but deliver a very similar curriculum as "economics," or sometimes you see "economics and commerce."
  4. He's Paul Dano as Damien: The College Years.
  5. Smelled like Corey's ass.
  6. We can split and fuse atoms like the creation of the universe. Then use it to create steam like it's 1870. It's still a mighty handy way to move energy around. I think, though, that the Ford class uses electric propulsion. Still steam turbine gennies, though. Deets on that stuff are hard to come by.
  7. You may be closer to "on the ground" business folks, so I'm sure you know what's up. I have observed that, at least out here in the hinterlands, accountants often seem to be presented with and successfully seize upon small-medium business opportunities. Seems many of the very successful small-medium businesses I have represented were started by an audit CPA that took a CFO position with equity or were offered a buy-in or some such.
  8. Well, do remember that about half of Wall Street or more has an undergrad in English or art history or whatever and the MBA provides whatever financial/accounting/quant horsepower most of them have. That's probably changing to favor math, CS, and engineering undergrads, though. Still, I think the MBA remains the favored credential. And MBA programs historically disfavor BBAs.
  9. If you are going out in the ocean in a relatively small boat, you need a lot of power if you want to live.
  10. And that's fine, the implications are horrific for those people and they all should have avoided this guy like the plague. So, either they're pervy or have a complete lack of judgment, or both. That doesn't mean they could have been indicted here.
  11. Signifies a switch from the old days when a BA in economics usually meant you didn't get into upper division in BBA/McCombs. Or accounting ate your lunch. How many business classes can you eke into an economics degree these days? I'm guessing close to none.
  12. It's a good example of why students in school have more limited 1A rights. Still, had the school acted, Moms For Liberty would have been up their ass big-time, as might the DOJ at this juncture with Hardmeat at the helm.
  13. He's up there with Gunther EaglemanTM, LibsofTikTok Loomer and a few other X shitposters. Come to think of it, though, I haven't seen him or Eagleman post much lately (well, say anything outrageous that gets reposted in saneworld).
  14. LeGAl rEAsoNs!
  15. On the one hand, the article doesn't reveal any particular significance of that footage. On the other, the US Attorney there seems to be pretty unprofessional. And it seems like the usual malicious incompetence from ICE.
  16. The flip side of "sanctuary cities" is those states and cities that are expending taxpayer dollars and overextending their law enforcement resources enforcing federal law for performative purposes to curry favor with the regime and its base. They really are bootlicker cities.
  17. That's a valid fear. Also remember, guardedly, how many people were sick of Trump's shit at the end of Trump I. And I don't mean aware of any specific policy or even specific bad behavior, just the non-stop controversy.
  18. Its founder, Julie McCarthy, declared regarding the El Paso Walmart shooting: “I don’t condone the actions, but I certainly understand where they came from,” she wrote. Don Huffines condemns it. So does Mackowiack. The Texas TribuneSpeakers condemn Texas group’s Christian nationalist eventThe venue also canceled, but Fort Worth city officials demanded it still host the event. True Texas Project blamed public backlash on “woke attacks.”That said, it's also an instrument of TimFaris DunnWilks, and I imagine GOP politicians are expected to pay tribute whether they believe or not. Sweet Jesus, read these bios.https://truetexasproject.com/about/ Ol Fran up there became involved in politics when Obama was elected.
  19. Same kind of thoughts. And actually these days, you have to give her a little bit of credit for realizing it was bad and wanting it edited. Whole lot of people, including the President, don't give a fuck.
  20. I saw a tweet or blue sky from Erika McEntarfer, the deposed non-partisan head of BLS. She said civil servants are still collecting and analyzing that data and ready to make a bunch of noise if interfered with.
