I wouldn’t mind if UCLA won, and I think it’s amazing that they have a WR from Dripping Springs who gets a few touches every now and then.
Also, having to knock out a water polo tourney before the game is the most PAC 12 west coast thing ever.
I think I’m down to about a 1/3 on that bottle. It’s for sure not worth the secondary hype when there’s plenty of 10+ year MGP around if you look. At least this one is 12 yr instead of the Spec’s 8 yr bottlings that were absolutely average. I traded one of those for a GTS and an OWA and have no regerts.
They’re all pretty wildly different. I have a Le Freche and a couple of Lous Pibous open and they’re pretty amazing for the price. That one in the pic is a ‘76 Le Sable 500ml euro edition that I haven’t cracked. It’s worth exploring but you can’t go into it expecting bourbon.
Batch 3 KO Rye is fine, but I’m not running out to buy it at $209. Maybe if I find it on sale at a twin for $150 or something. I have a Batch 1 open along with a spare so no real need for more. The batch 9 bourbon is also killer and would probably go for Stagg Jr secondary money of their retail pricing was similar.
I like it by itself but it will get smoked by their barrel strength and toasted rye in a side by side.
This is still my greatest shelf find ever from last summer. Three ‘17 M10R sitting on a shelf at $159.99 each.
Ha, you might live next to my friend in Austin. He got a cactus gray first edition and we did the Off Rodeo in Marble Falls after. I didn’t really want one before that and now I do.
I’ve been telling recruiters for roughly a decade that I’ll trade an interview/lunch for a bottle of Pappy 15. Never thought it would happen, but here we are.
Nailed it. I’ve poured quite a few great 12–25 yr bourbons in “honor” of my teenagers. Also, they won’t have any respect or appreciation for this kind of quality until they’re, like, 30 so this is probably a waste of time.
Did you get a pick or a rando? I like the pick I got from Alamo City and I’m no sort of Dickel apologist. I also like the 11 Year Dickel BiB but hate most of the rest of their stuff.
