Opening Weller SiB is the biggest flex in bourbon right now. Everybody knows you passed up $800 to drink Special Reserve single barrel and that’s ballsy. CYPB is at least better and also cheaper.

    Correct, lowest is around $800.

I did one recently for two W12 750, one W12 1l and a hundo. Had another one on the line for Weller SiB and a Blanton’s.

I don’t care for the rye. Found three at retail, traded for an open one and then traded two of mine away and will probably find a home for the last one. It has a weird oil based paint note that I don’t want. Just tried it again to double check for about the 5th time and I still can’t get down with it.
  6. I went back to Alaska for Christmas and got in one day of fishing on a balmy 12* day. No winter kings were killed, but I did get a fun picture of my downrigger clip skating across the ice and the frosty ass back deck. In the future I’ll probably stick to August but it was fun to give it a try.

My last allocated pickup if the year was a THH so I had to crack it and take a flex shot with the unopened ones I have. I like it a ton, but it’s starting to feel like a let down on most of these bottles relative to the secondary value. I’ve had some very good MGP lately in the $100-$200 range that is probably as good. The NFC foil cap is kinda cool, tho.

Anybody had the new Woodford Master’s Collection 5 malt? Grabbed one today because last year’s 16th edition was such a banger.
  9. You could also check out the Stowa Marine line. https://www.stowa.de/en/marine+original+arabic.htm

You could get a lot of nice EHT for the price of a Warehouse C. Like an EHTBP 8, 9 and a nice EHT Single Barrel Pick. Only hype bottle I’ve been more disappointed by is Pappy 20. 18 Year Marriage is really good but I’d probably rather have a WLW and ‘21 OFBB than that 2500 bottle.

Seems to be moving around 425 depending on proof and still sliding. Last year’s rye slid pretty steadily down to $265 over a long period of time so I wouldn’t be surprised to see this land at 350-375. Haven’t cracked mine because the rye was such a disappointment.

I’ll do a WTMK BiB, CYPB and either an ER pick or OE7 for the Old Fitz 13 and ‘18 THH.

We flew into Juneau yesterday to stay at our new place for the first time. It’s a crazy snowy white Christmas with a high of 25* and about 18” on the ground. The house is amazing and will be on the VRBO market shortly if anybody’s looking for a place to stay that doesn’t suck.

I think that’s a total wine brand using Barton so call it a mixer.

Killer story from back in the day, but this guy needs to be banned.

Finally tried it a few weeks back and didn’t hate it. It’s not going to be found on my shelf but it’s not awful.
  17. This was the first real bbq I ever had after moving here, ‘06 or so when nobody GAF about rankings or south Austin in general. RIP.

That Indiana trash? Damn near worthless. I’ll give you an OWA pick and a Copper Tongue. Can’t beat Tennessee and Kentucky when it comes to real bourbon.
  19. CT5 felt bigger to me, I sat in a regular one and liked it. My oldest are growing 13 and 15 year old boys and there’s honestly not much more legroom in the back of the CT4 than my Shelby.
  20. Sewell’s are all special order cars. Same group as Batchelor in SA and they’re all not actually available. They had one CT4 in that matte green and it was pretty sweet, but not for me.
  21. I’m working on entitlements for something like 5,000 lots in Georgetown right now, so RIP on traffic. It’s as good or better than most of the suburbs if you want to be north. I’d take it over Leander, Hutto, Cedar Park and Round Rock. You might rather be out in Liberty Hill but it’s pretty covered up in Aggies out there.
  22. I hate this new car market. Apparently I’d be looking at this time next year for a CT5 Blackwing. They tried to downsell me on a CT4 Blackwing which at least had a manual, but I’m not voluntarily passing on 200 hp and it was small, like tighter than my old SS or an M3.

Picked up a Coy Hill, ‘21 Birthday and another CYPB today, didn’t even have to use my AK.
  24. That’s hot. I love big RWD coupes.

Because I’m a long haired hipster I have a few pair of Red Wings including the ropers and some Iron Rangers. The ropers are 10 years old, have been to hell and back and are my favorite boots of all time. I can beat the piss out of them chopping wood or working on the lease and then hit them with saddle soap and bring them back to life. You won’t regret them for the price even though I think those traction tred soles are kinda ugly. If you really want to go big get some Viberg hikers.
