Wonder if he had any trouble working for himself.

Not sure if serious. If so: "After the Spurs had a 3–15 start in the 1996–97 season, with David Robinson sidelined with a preseason back injury, Popovich fired coach Bob Hill and named himself head coach."

Can you say Gregg Popovich? I knew you could.

I'll have what he's having--assuming the Kool Aid comes in 55-gal. drums. (or kegs . . .)

2021 NFL DRAFT
We may be looking at a win-win situation here: If he flops in the League, it'll be an affirmation of his overrated talent evaluation. If he shines, he'll be another star from DBU--The-University-of-By-God-Texas. An oversimplification? Sure, but there are a ton of folks out there who either can't or don't look past the obvious.

Texas commit Tamar Bates- our hope for the future
Brian Davis: Rather stunning honesty from Tamar Bates on his Texas basketball commitment. He tells Rivals, "I wanted to play for a Black head coach with everything that is going on." Surprised that nobody's posted the "That's racist!" GIF yet.

2021 Texas spring football thread
Because the above response is off-topic and belongs on another thread on this board, I won't comment on its relative merits for fear of further derailing this thread. If, however, I were to stray a bit off message and address this topic, which I'm loath to do, I'd say that I 100% agree that whoever is both callous and selfish enough to pull a stunt like that, as well as dumb enough to brag about it on public board, deserves all he gets. If however, God forbid, such a despicable individual were to be run over by a steamroller in front of his family rather than by a truck, I'd be first in line to visit him in the hospital in rooms 2101, 1202, and 1203.

Texas AD Chris Del Conte
There have been a lot of negatives on this board about CDC during the last year. I wanted Urban as badly as the next guy but I don't lay our inability to attract him at CDC's feet. If you just ignore the rhetoric and look at the results since the first of the year, he's doing a pretty damn good job. No, he's not perfect but the AD at Texas is a damn complicated job and he's handling it.

Fire Shaka Smart
Ah, quoting Bill Bradley when the referee asked whether he wanted heads or tails at the coin toss of the 1968 aggy game. Bradley said, "It don't make a shit." Apparently, he was right. The score was 35-14 'Horns.

Well, DON'T cross him off, then.

It's not so much a valid reason as an after-the-fact excuse.

Not sure which way this cuts. For most of our history we'd be the beneficiary of such a rule. Hopefully, we will be again.

He has/had all the measurables, the speed, the athleticism. It's just a damn shame that when it comes to ballin', he looks good in his uniform.
