(Pretty good list - 3 of 5 are Top-4 at their position (in the portal, as of now). Two solid OL, plus a highly rated edge to add to the position group, w/ Simmons ... ) The Stampede: Predicting Texas' five next transfer portal commits Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247 Staff) The Stampede: Predicting Texas' five next transfer portal commits The Stampede: Predicting Texas' five next transfer portal commits Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247 Staff) The Texas Longhorns have landed four transfer portal commitments at this stage with three pledges coming from specialists and one coming from an interior defensive lineman. While burnt orange fans should be happy to see the additions since it means true freshman specialists won't be trusted (which is always a good thing), it is understanding that frustration has built up from Texas' lack of portal activity. However, we're still quite early into this year's portal cycle and the lack of commitments is set to change soon after the Longhorns hosted several portal visitors over the weekend. That said, Horns247 decided to predict Texas' five next transfer portal commits for this week's edition of The Stampede. (Players listed in positional order) Michigan State TE Michael Masunas After redshirting and not playing a snap as a true freshman in 2022, Masunas proceeded to play in 25 games with 12 starts over the next three seasons before entering the transfer portal ahead of his fifth and final season of eligibility. More of an in-line blocker than a receiving threat, Masunas has 24 receptions for 270 yards and three touchdowns, but all but five catches and 38 yards came from the 2025 season when Masunas saw his largest snap count of his four year career. Masunas would fit a similar need to what Horns247 profiled on Hayden Hansen earlier in the portal cycle as a true blocker that can help improve Texas' abilities to run 12 personnel successfully. With Jack Endries off to the NFL the Longhorns will probably need to hit the portal for two tight ends, but for now, Masunas is the main name to know at tight end. Michigan OT Andrew Sprague After redshirting as a true freshman, Sprague made 12 starts at right tackle for the Wolverines in 2025 en route to being named an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten selection. Sprague graded out at a 69.3 for the course of the season on Pro Football Focus, with 740 snaps. He also notched a 71.6 in pass pro and 65.3 in run blocking. The 6-foot-8, 315 pounder is one of the more promising young offensive tackles in the portal and if he ends up at Texas I'd imagine he'd fill in at right tackle and Brandon Baker would be moved to guard. Sprague did not play in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl so the Longhorns didn't get to play against him, but they're still well aware from hosting Sprague for a visit over the weekend. Sprague entered the portal with a do not contact tag and the Longhorns were mentioned immediately out of the gate alongside Mizzou, who now has Michigan's former OC on staff in Columbia. Michigan IOL Jake Guarnera The Michigan sophomore guard transfer earned Big Ten honorable mention honors from the league coaches and media in his first year as a starter in 2025 and would bring immediate plug and play starting ability for the Longhorns who desperately need help on the interior o-line and specifically guard. Guarnera can also play center and has two seasons of eligibility left heading into the 2026 season. All of Guarnera's 11 career starts came in the 2025 season, with 10 of those at right guard. Guarnera moved from right guard to center to take over for injured starter Greg Crippen against Texas in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. The Florida native has a lot of traits Texas looks for out of high school as a former basketball player and shot and disc thrower, and the versatility factor as a guard/center would be a welcomed addition. Guarnera entered the portal with a do not contact tag and should make it to Austin soon for a visit if he hasn't already. Florida EDGE Jayden Woods The Florida transfer is one of the more talented young players in college football and he should also make an immediate impact if he ends up with the Longhorns. Woods tallied 28 total tackles, five tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one interception in his lone season in Gainesville where he made three starts and played in all 12 of Florida's games as a true freshman in 2025. Woods was named to the SEC's All-Freshman team for his efforts in his rookie campaign. Per PFF, Woods generated 17 pressures and 18 STOPS (tackles that constitute a failed play for the offense) over 448 snaps this season. PFF also tabbed Woods as having the highest pass rushing grade amongst freshman defensive linemen (DL/EDGE) in the SEC with 150 or more snaps on the year. The Longhorns are battling Mizzou, Ohio State, Oregon, and Texas A&M and a return to Florida is possible as well, but as of now Texas is the only school that's hosted Woods for a visit as a portal prospect. UTSA DL/EDGE Kenny Ozowalu A similar story to Trey Moore, Ozowalu is a San Antonio native (SA Reagan alum) that walked-on at UTSA over several FCS and NAIA offers. He redshirted as a true freshman before breaking out as a redshirt freshman in 2025 and starting 10 of UTSA's 12 regular season games, finishing the year with 17 tackles, three sacks, and one PBU. PFF also credited Ozowalu with 22 pressures, 16 hurries, and four QB hits. With those numbers, Ozowalu finished first in pressures and second in hurries amongst the Roadrunners' defense. Ozowalu also finished the 2025 season with the second-most snaps on the Roadrunners' defensive line. The San Antonio native took a visit to Oklahoma the day or two before he made a stop at Texas, and it's the Sooners who Horns247 views as the Longhorns' main competition.- Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread
Lulz. If they're complaining about Geffrard's ranking, wonder how they feel about their latest OL signee, Coen Echols, and the IOL ranked above him .... 😂 😂😂- Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - I'm With Stupid

Hope FCB is right; he specifically says "expected to return" ... Texas star left tackle Trevor Goosby expected to return for 2026, source says Chip Brown (247 Staff) Texas star left tackle Trevor Goosby expected to return for 2026, source says Texas star left tackle Trevor Goosby expected to return for 2026, source says Chip Brown (247 Staff) AUSTIN, Texas — Texas redshirt sophomore left tackle Trevor Goosby is expected to return to the Longhorns for the 2026 season, a source close to the situation told Horns247. After Texas' 41-27 victory over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl, Steve Sarkisian said, "We've got a great nucleus of players coming back to this team. We'll find the right mix of potential portal players to add, but we've got to retain our players, too. That's really important." Goosby was at the top of Texas' priority list of players to retain, considering Goosby was the one shining star on an offensive line that struggled in 2025 and also considering Goosby was getting feedback from the NFL that he could be a late first-round or second-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. In 1,175 career snaps played across three seasons at Texas, Goosby has given up just three sacks. Goosby has played in 30 games for the Longhorns with 15 starts. Unlike former Texas right tackle Cameron Williams, who didn't care for school and wanted to move on after just one season as a starter, (and ended up as a sixth-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 NFL Draft), Goosby isn't in a rush to go pro. Sources close to Goosby say the 6-foot-7, 312-pound 247Sports three-star prospect from Melissa sees the merit of adding the weight, strength and experience that will come from another season of starts at left tackle for the Longhorns. Those sources say Goosby wants a chance to solidify himself as a high first-round pick like his mentor Kelvin Banks Jr., who was selected No. 9 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints after three seasons as Texas' starter at left tackle. Goosby will also have a chance to spend a year in college with his younger brother, Austin, a top-20 national 2026 prospect as a 6-foot-5 small forward who will arrive in the fall to play basketball for Sean Miller's program. Goosby established himself as a go-to player in 2024, when he was called into action at Texas A&M when Banks had an ankle injury. With Goosby in the lineup against an Aggies' defense giving up just 128.4 rushing yards per game (3.9 ypc), Texas was able to run the ball 50 times for 240 yards (4.8 ypc) as Goosby. Goosby ended up starting at left tackle in place of an injured Banks against Georgia in a 22-19 overtime loss in the SEC Championship game, and then subbed in at right tackle in College Football Playoff victories against Clemson and Arizona State after starter Cameron Williams suffered an ankle injury. In those four games as a redshirt freshman in 2024, Goosby gave up zero sacks.- Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - I'm With Stupid
So, ... Who was the Alabama WR coach during that time, you ask ? And what is he doing now? (Btw, I was chuckling until I realized we didn't do much better ... our record was salvaged by Worthy (and Mitchell, if you include him). But at east we don't have Coleman and Marion as our OC ... ).- Texas Recruiting Notes 2027: I remember watching his dad play
