UFO?
Bingo. It was the greatest security crisis this nation has ever seen, non-stop talk from all the expected mouthpieces. Then.....I guess everyone realized "huh, lights in the flight path of some of the largest airports on earth kinda makes sense." Or, it was all bullshit. The "ZOMG UFOS!" crowd has no credibility. And yeah, the NJ bullshit is a big part of why they have no credibility.

In fairness, Longhorn football IS more important than the survival of the Republic. When we win a national title after securing a buncha wins in the rubble of DKR-TMS, you'll see.

Every single person - and every single person you interact with in any meaningful way - needs to know an hear the absolute existential crisis we are all in. Not "things could get uncomfortable. We may not be able to go to two volleyball camps next year" uncomfortable. Total fucking collapse. Complete disorder. Incredible violence and death. Loss of everything we hold dear, everything we believe in, and our continued existence being at the whim of an insane totalitarian ruler and the loser sycophants in his regime. For the Republic, we are facing an extinction-level event. I can't understand how a majority of this nation is just watching it happen and is okay with it.

If a foreign leader was doing this level of damage to the US, we'd be at war with his country by now. It's that profound, and that bad, and you know it. We are in the thrall of collective insanity, barreling towards collective suicide. And we show no signs of hitting the brakes. Instead, we're injecting fuel directly into the carburetor screaming WOOHOO! as we punch it towards the cliff.

Trump’s America
These are people who argue that Gavin Newsom is disqualified from even RUNNING for president because he ate at French Laundry during COVID. But the guy who can't even keep straight WHICH NATO ally he intends to go to war with? He's the greatest president EVER! We are in the thrall of collective insanity, and the only thing that MIGHT break it is total economic collapse and/or nuclear hellfire. On the bright side....we're barreling ahead towards both possibilities at ludicrous speed.

Again......negotiating with your fucking FRIENDS by threatening literally the worst thing that you can do (war...or in my metaphor, murdering their kids and raping their wife).....is fucking insane. There's no debate, no discussion, no "alternate perspective." It is the most self-destructive, counter-productive thing imaginable. And we have people fucking DEFENDING it. How about this: to anyone who defends this, maybe I say "TAKE DOWN YOUR POSTS OR I WILL KILL YOU AND YOUR WHOLE FAMILY!!!!" [Maybe I mean it, maybe I don't. We'll see. But I have the power to kill you and your whole family, and I just might do it]." Do you think Imma would ban me for that? Cuz I do. Because to say that would be fucking insane, and completely outside the bounds of any sane and acceptable dialogue on this or any other rational forum. And people here defend it. What the fuck is fucking wrong with you?

Blah blah blah. It always comes back to butt stuff.

The Trump Economy
Because, it turns out, weaponized, fully federalized racism was the real prize, and everything else can be sacrificed so long as we get that. Imagine torching the entire country, its economy, its currency, its global status and standing.....in exchange for being able to watch some poorly trained paramilitaries beat up brown people. One of the many things I've learned from this insane era is that there apparently never was such a thing as a "libertarian." They were always just racist authoritarians waiting for their moment, who were not only not interested in liberty and limited government, but were actually 180 degrees opposed to such concepts. I shouldn't keep being surprised, yet I am.

Denmark? The Netherlands? You "THINK" we'll eventually enter into a mutual defense organization?

Canada and UT can divorce themselves from Trump to varying degrees. We the American people cannot. And dear god, imagine defending this negotiation strategy: I have a neighbor, we have gotten along great for decades. We regularly borrow each other's tools, a cup of sugar, all that stuff. He gives me carte blanche to use his pool in the summer. I have several of my security cameras turned towards his house, and will alert him if they detect an intruder. In fact, one time, some jackass jumped my kid at school, and his kid IMMEDIATELY jumped in to defend him, and got pretty roughed up in the process. Pretty solid mutually beneficial relationship. Then one day, I decide that I don't just want access to his pool, I want him to give me full legal title and control to his whole back yard. He is confused, as I already have all the access I could want. When he tells me he's confused, I say -- repeatedly -- "give me your backyard or I will rape your wife and murder your kids. I mean it, I will do it if you don't do this the easy way." Now, later that week, my wife comes over, and says "Brisket really doesn't mean it. But seriously, give us your backyard or else." Do you think that neighbor is likely to give me his backyard? Do you think I'm likely to ever have any decent relationship with that neighbor -- or ANY of our neighbors, as they all heard about my insanity -- ever again? I mean, I'm still standing here threatening to rape his wife and murder his kids if he doesn't give me what I want. But, you know, that's just "a negotiation tactic." Stop normalizing ANY of this. Just stop.

Greenland
They love it. They celebrate this country and the world burning, so long as some dirty messican invaders get their asses beat by ICE and shit. There's no rational thought here. It's all id and hate and idiocy.

The Trump Economy
He has killed the dollar as the reserve currency. There is no going back. Canada told us not that it's coming, but that it's already a done-deal. Canada is correct. Within 5 years, the dollar will not be the reserve currency. That is very, very bad for us. And the Trumpists cheer it. Because we are dead-set on a national policy of "self-immolation," and nothing is even going to slow us down.

Greenland
When you are watching someone destroy almost every aspect of the country you love, destroy the most stable, peaceful world order the planet has ever seen, re-create the order that led to WWI, murder indiscriminately for his own ego, destroy the dollar as the world reserve currency (Canada just told you in no uncertain terms that is coming -- the dollar's reign will end within 5 years), cause incredible suffering and promise to cause much more.....yeah, that seems worth following. He is not a sideline issue. This isn't the FBS championship we're discussing - an interesting diversion, but no real impact on anything. This is going to shape the planet for generations to come, and none of it in a good way. I have children who will have to navigate the absolute wreckage and carnage he is wreaking. It fucking matters. How do you not fucking get that it fucking matters? And how do you not get that your friends actively support this? Imagine knowing that 40% of your countrymen want to burn the world....with you in it....and thinking we should ignore it.

Greenland
Sure, but the counterpoint is that you are a piece-of-shit enabling piece-of-shit worth every ounce of our hatred and contempt, so.....comme ci, comme ça.

Trump’s America
He is threatening war with one of our staunchest allies. For no reason. And he can't even remember which allied country it is he wants to go to war with. We don't even need to get to the additional stack of insane lies that spewed from his mouth in Davos (I mean, straight-up empirical facts that he lied about -- like China having no wind energy etc.). We can just stick with (1) he is threatening war against a NATO ally, which as a matter of law would be an act of treason punishable by death, (2) there is no actual reason for that threat, and (3) he can't even remember which ally. 25th.

Elon Musk: Nazi traitor piece of shit [Confirmed]
Just read this gem by someone discussing one of Elmo’s many lies about his “software engineering” prowess and accomplishments. It’s spot on. “However, the reality is, he’s the natural endpoint of a society that worships wealth w/o intellect or empathy. We’ve handed the keys of the future to a man-child w/ the emotional stability of a toddler & the bank account of a nation-state. He wields his net worth like a rattle to demand the attention of a world he doesn’t want to understand, yet insists on ruling. He’s less a visionary than a cautionary tale about what happens when mediocrity purchases its own mythology.” Across the board, this is what we’re doing. Handing absolute power to absolute psychopathic liars for absolutely all the wrong reasons. And the results are….absolutely what any sane person would expect.

The Trump Economy
As I said, as to all of the oligarchs who support him, the goal Is the same for all of them: to bleed this country, and its people, of every drop of blood/cash they can wring from it. After which, they will leave the empty haul behind without a second thought. If you support him, you are in every sense of the word an accessory to the murder - for profit - of our entire nation. Stop.

The Trump Economy
You mean….they award Nobel Prizes OTHER than the Peace Prize? And…they observed that the Trump approach is pure shit? Huh. Interesting. “In 2024, a group of economists won a Nobel Prize for research showing that rule of law and democratic institutions are essential for long-term prosperity. The Bulwark's Catherine Rampell asked one of those laureates why investors seem unperturbed by Trump's degradation of those institutions. His answer was grim: "Plenty of authoritarians oversee growth spurts and then it collapses. When the tide goes out... see Suharto's Indonesia 1997–98."

Trump’s America
My dude. We ain’t making it to “this time next year.” Either this presidency ends in the next 6-8 months…or there’s no surviving Republic to be President of. You know this.

Trump’s America
Yep. It's my friends, my family, my community. My people. People I love. The people I have around my dinner table. Some of 'em are white "Heritage Americans." And plenty....aren't. I care about them. I give a shit about them. And nearly half this country fucking hates them and joyously inflicts or celebrates cruelty against them. We are a piece of shit country filled with pieces of shit.

2026 Midterms ...
Short answer: my kids don't live in this country, and I've told them that if this shit goes down, don't come back. Seek asylum. And I'm doing things to make sure that as much of my assets/wealth can be moved to/accessed by them as possible, should it come to that. As for my wife and me? We've lived good lives. If our destiny is to die fighting, then so be it. I've become kind of sanguine about it, actually. Don't think we've done nothing to prepare. That would be a mistaken belief. And we've worked with many others to prepare them as well. That's one thing that gives me comfort. When it eventually crosses that rubicon, the regime really doesn't understand the hell that will be visited upon it.
