  1. I think you mean the "Sherman Hemsley Strut."
  2. To some degree, the Dream Team is responsible for the sport's boom in popularity. And even though it means the US can't win every FIBA or Olympic event, I'm thrilled that basketball has evolved into a truly international sport. The game is far better for it.
  3. At least we know what became of all those dumplings.
  4. Philosophical question for you, sir: If you were to invite me over to your next dumpling event, would I be frowned upon for eating the entire lot? Keep in mind that, if I did so, that'd just mean more quality time for your daughter and her Grams since they'd undoubtedly have to whip up another batch. I'll hang up and listen.
  5. Not to press your outrage button even harder, but she wasn't holding the pot when he shot. The article and video both make this clear. Here's an X post that highlights it further. This was straight-up murder. That cop shot a woman in the face simply because she had the audacity to "rebuke him in the name of Jesus." She was cowering and apologizing and dropping to the ground when he pulled the trigger. It's truly awful.
  6. It infuriated me whenever Lapham would highlight a run of Vince's and talk about his "jackhammer feet." Vince was a slasher/long strider. Pretty much the opposite of "jackhammer feet."
  7. Oh, I dunno. The breakfast taco/burrito that has become quite common and popular across the country, could that not be considered Tex-Mex? I'm talking something like chorizo con juevos rolled into a flour tortilla. Or potato, bacon and egg, also rolled up into a flour tortilla. Does that have its roots in Texas or elsewhere?

  9. Fair points, but he's still bucking his party's prevailing platform, so I'll take it.

Dempsey was not a Bradenton product. He was as bootstrapped/homegrown as it gets. Even spent three years at college, playing for the mighty Furman Paladins. Can't think of a single other field player in history who "developed" for three years in the NCAAs and ultimately found their way to the top-level of European club soccer (Premiership, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1).
  11. Rolled through SE Idaho this weekend and today. Overnighted in McCammon and should be in Montpelier by now. Some pics and a low-res video taken earlier today by a friend near Bancroft: BigBoy4014.mov
  12. Maybe. However, I've watched every game so far and the impression I get is that of a cat playing with its food. There are many lapses in concentration and intensity that result in careless offensive turnovers, poor perimeter defense, and an excessive amount of second-chance points for the opponent. These other squads might not be as deep or talented, but they're still pros and plenty good enough to punish any team caught sleepwalking. Also, a friendly reminder: these were mere exhibitions. Much like how pros elevate their effort for the playoffs versus the regular season, I imagine they'll do likewise for group play and even more so during the knockout rounds. On the flipside, Germany, South Sudan and Australia sure looked to be giving it maximum effort from start to finish.
  13. I know this observation is nothing new, but the level of play that LeBron is able to achieve despite being nearly 40 is astounding.
  14. You can find a link to the video here. The murder occurs shortly after the 14-minute mark. I will caution you--it's going to ruin your day. https://youtu.be/HFun2GydGyU?si=8ZopOmVv8D4y-A-W&t=840 Some truly bizarre and infuriating dialog. And shortly after the shooting: Fuck that guy. Hope he never spends another day as a free man.
  15. That was quite the sequence on both ends.
  16. There's a TriStar that often shows up at our airport here in SE Idaho during fire season. Always a pleasure to see. And let's not forget the iconic Connie, the O.G. of Air Force Ones. Not the prettiest bird, but very distinctive with its triple tail and dolphin-like fuselage. (Technically, this is a Super Constellation.)
  17. Seasoned Vault Hunters will merely recognize this as a case of life imitating art.
  18. Reeks of fried chicken?
  19. He's done it again. Clocked a 44.20 yesterday to lower his world record by nearly four-tenths. Just an unbelievable talent. Check the interview. Kid is mature beyond his years in performance and personality.
  20. No realli!!
  21. If you're gonna do tenders, why not Golden Chick or Chicken Express? Better tenders, imo, and you can get gravy.
  22. Dave (probably Don Geller) posted an old clip for tribute.
