  1. As stated above in that article Satya posted, I think it's due to timing. It really fucks Duke because they can't really pursue a qualified backup plan. As well as the fact that Mensah already publicly announced he was returning.
  2. Sounds like a similar situation to Williams at UDub. Reupped to stay, then Miami threw the kitchen sink at him and he enters the portal.
  3. That's quite the leap. If I was specifically referring to you, I would have quoted you. I actually agree with everything you just said, in the above, to me. Now that has been addressed, there is a longstanding narrative that those Clemson teams didn't have very good-to-great college OLs; when, if fact, they did. Lastly, you absolutely said "with everything else (i.e., every other unit on the field) being average." Those OLs were not full of average college linemen. That's a complete farce. I, in fact, put zero words in your mouth. BO&W riles y'all up so badly, holy shit.
  4. Hook'em Headlines just regurgitates days-old info from 9.95ers and posts it on various social media platforms. It's a 100% guarantee Wilson got this info from OTF or here.
  5. Yep. The narrative that Clemson wasn't good on the OL isn't true. They were just entirely overshadowed by the sheer amount of high draft picks that came from their DL YOY. In reality, they had OLs full of good/very good college players. All-ACC teams for years in which Clemson won it all 2016 (First-team): 2018 (First, Second, Third): In 2015 (L NCG), all starting OL made one of the three postseason award lists. In 2017 (L Semis), all but their RT did. In 2019, (L NCG) all starting OL made one of the three postseason award lists. We, as Texas fans, would kill for those results from our starting OL.
  6. Monday Afternoon Portal Note - Bobby I am told that Texas will have no additional players to add to the portal that haven’t already been poplulated. In other words, the portal window for attrition has officially closed. The Horns remain otherwise intact. The player who had contemplated going into the portal has now signed to return to Texas. ** Texas is in wait and see mode to some degree. Which players will go into the portal on Tuesday/Wednesday? Will any players in the national championship game tonight head to the portal in the five days that follow** Westlake product Bray Lynch, a two-year starter at guard for Indiana, has been mentioned by some as a possible portal entrant. Texas is certainly keeping tabs on that possibility. Others saw the fact that Wisconsin offensive guard Joe Brunner signed with Indiana as proof that Lynch may enter the portal. However, I am told it’s likely that the Hoosiers attempt to sell a move to center for Lynch next year. Only time will tell what Lynch decides. And only time will tell if other players of note jump in the portal. Tuesday - Bobby Texas State offensive guard Tellek Lockette told OTF he “was supposed to” visit Texas today. But that visit is apparently off. Lockette gave no further reason. ** As we reported yesterday, we were told Texas does not have any of its existing roster expected to enter the portal this cycle. In other words, the roster bleeding has stopped. That means the Horns’ sole focus now is adding folks to the team. Texas clearly wants and needs another interior OL. Can they get one? That’s a good question. Texas has some hope that one shakes loose late in the process. If so, Texas will be very aggressive. ** Indiana just won a national championship. How big of a turnaround is it? The Hoosiers have won just SIX bowl games in their entire program history. Ever. And THREE of those bowl wins came in the last 19 days. It’s the greatest college football turnaround in my lifetime. It even exceeds what Bill Snyder did at Kansas State because of the heights the Hoosiers have reached. Yet there is a commonality in those cases. Curt Cignetti and Bill Snyder largely relied on older, more experienced players. Cignetti utilized the transfer portal liberally. Snyder routinely signed more Juco players than high school prospects. ** So I ask everyone, do you want more experienced players at Texas? Is that the route better taken?
  7. I didn't know Jimbo Fisher posted here.
  8. Duke and then UConn, but yes, those were fun.
  9. Sark isn’t an elite HC. That’s the point. There’s no evidence proving he’s elite (yet). That doesn’t mean I don’t like him.
  10. What’s Cignetti’s wining percentage as a HC compared to Sark?
  11. We’ll see. I’m sure we’ll still be disappointed in terms of what they spend. Red Sox are in the bottom third of the MLB in terms of spending when compared to their annual revenue. This owner and front office suck lately. Henry and co just want to make money.
  12. Then that should have been stated. We can overfit data all we want, but Sark isn’t an elite coach if he doesn’t win a title.
  13. No, it’s saying only 1, which isn’t anywhere near true.
  14. Any Red Sox fan, like myself, agrees with that statement. Ownership and the front office won’t spend enough to remain competitive and haven’t since the last title.
  15. Saban and Cignetti aren’t “really good HCs.” DD is correct that Sark appears to be really good. However, comparing Saban (GOAT) and Cignetti (seemingly elite) to “really good” just seems like a moving the goalposts in terms of a false equivalence to the original statement.
  16. He’ll be coming back to Austin this year.
  17. 4 weeks and 4 hours until Texas Baseball!
  18. What are you taking about? Devin Brown was c/o 2022. His high school recruitment had nothing to do with Bell or Curtis.
  19. Just wait until big-bad Texas comes for their "football" relevance again!
  20. ST penalties for us all!
  21. The transfer portal thread really has everyone on edge
