  1. I am presently sorting through a 40 page, complex contract that the parties, in their drafting, royally fucked up some years ago. They didn't consider some important elements of the law (that are arcane and rarely apply, but apply here). They didn't consider how some of these elements play together in ways that are far from obvious. Shit, the contract looks like something drafted with the help of AI (although it predates such things), leading to it being fucked up. Or I'm wrestling with a jury charge sometimes, and how HUMANS will perceive some language, based on my knowledge of the case facts as a whole, and how each witness presents. That's not something AI does today for shit, or will ever be able to do. Will AI replace a good number of tasks in the legal world? Sure. But of the many things about AI that worry me, replacing lawyers - where our job requires an incredible amount of nuance and grappling with necessary uncertainty -- is not really one of them. Maybe the number of "assembly line" lawyers in some limited fields goes down. But truly, what I'm doing today could not be handled by AI.
  2. I'm pretty sure that a slap on the ass followed by a "now go out there and do fascist shit!" is plenty of training for the job as it currently exists.
  3. Oh, and the Trumpkins will never, ever, ever admit they were wrong. They are too fragile to do so. To admit they were wrong in trusting a lying con-man would be to take away the only worth they feel they have as humans. They are in this ALL the way, to the bitter end. Which is going to cost all of us dearly. Maybe our entire country, and civilization, all because they are fragile-egoed little manlets... Smart people got off the train. And plenty of folks have, over the years. But now, the people still on board.....they are going to take it all the way to its natural end....taking us all with it....
  4. Naah. He'll vote for him because he lies about his principles. They 100% change with presidents. We live in "every accusation is a confession" land. Every thing they said was so horrible about Biden.....Trump has done X10. Shit, they bitched about a "weaponized DOJ," when the DOJ never, ever stated that it serves solely at the whim and direction of the president, which the current DOJ and the admin itself have said in no uncertain terms (seriously, Bessent said today that whether the DOJ prosecutes someone is "up to the president.") And the same goes for....literally every issue. They were concerned about Hunter Biden and corruption and self-dealing....but give ZERO fucks that the POTUS has established an open system of "give the boss a taste" that has enriched him to the tune of $4 billion in JUST ONE FUCKING YEAR. And pedophilia was the most important issue ever....till Trump found his way into the Epstein files 38,000 times (so far...there's still a lot to go), in which case it's no big deal at all. And the list goes on, to infinity. They lie. They voted for Trump, so they LIKE lying. It's their native tongue.
  5. When life hands you a lemon-shaped micropenis....make child sex trafficking-lemonade? I mean, that's not the BEST aphorism.....
  6. Where can we find them? Milquetoast.com? Keepitblandandweak.net? Apologiesinadvance.org?
  7. Yep. Plenty of them are saying "NOPE NOPE NOPE NOT ON OUR WATCH." Which is EXACTLY what good Americans should do when they see fuckery afoot.
  8. I'm just happy that JD Vance's makeup team is getting work across the hemisphere.
  9. Oh, I'd forgotten about the Bad Bunny freakout as well. So add "Americans of hispanic heritage" to the list, in case the "dirty brown folks from the south" wasn't broad enough to capture that. It's a fucking open and proud white supremacy movement. That's all it is.
  10. "Shocking".....to precisely....nobody who has paid any attention to this movement. Every accusation is a confession, exhibit fucking INFINITY.
  11. Just keeping a little bit of a scorecard on how the entire MAGA foundation is white Christian nationalist bullshit and demonization of "others." 1) a central pillar is "immigrants are bad, deport them all!" Mostly aimed at dirty mexicans and other southern brown folks. CHECK. 2) now they all seem to be uniting around "I'm gonna ban Sharia law!," because muslims did 9/11 and October 7th (even though they are just making shit up to oppose). So, add dirty muslims to the list for sure. CHECK. 3) there are multiple organized campaigns to go after all those dirty Indians in North Texas, and the "INDIAN TAKEOVER!" So, gotta get rid of all the Indians, too. CHECK. 4) and of course, can't forget that "trans for everyone" is the greatest threat to America (well, maybe after the mexicans and the mooslems -- hard to rank these things). So, gotta hate the trans. CHECK. The movement is built almost entirely on demonizing anyone and everyone who is not a straight, white, Christian "heritage American" (yes, they use that term). If you defend this admin at all, you SUPPORT a platform of demonizing latinos, muslims, Indians, trans and gay people.....pretty much fucking everyone except lily-white christians. That's the America you want, and are actively working towards. Fuck you, and burn in hell.
  12. I think we'll get what we're talking about, and then some. Because the collapse that's being set up isn't a one-factor sort of thing. It's a complete systemic collapse and failure, across the board. For example, don't forget that one of the "tools" that a government has in a financial crisis is....large tax cuts to increase the money supply/velocity of money. But we already burned that tool -- for no sound reason -- with the "Trump Tax Cuts," made permanent in the "Big Beautiful Bill." You ever watch those air crash shows, and you see over and over that the pattern of most crashes is that 10 different things have to go wrong, in a certain order, for a crash to happen (and usually, several of those things are really stupid things that just shouldn't happen)? That's where we are. We have mechanical flaws waiting to manifest and cascade. We have unqualified pilots. We have already used the tools and protocols that might have helped us pull out of a dive. The weather is turning to shit. It's coming. And....it won't last for just a summer. There's a solid chance that this crisis is going to last for years. Think Japan's "lost decade," but 10X worse because "when the US sneezes, the whole world catches a cold."
  13. The problem with Kraft's MAGA audience is that their core intellectual function is cognitive dissonance. These are people who simultaneously shout "we stand with Israel! Bomb all the dirty ay-rabs!" and then say "the jews control everything, and must be stopped!" Stop trying to use facts/reason with people who do not speak that language at all. You might as well be shouting at Swedish people in Korean. It's just noise to them.
  14. I mean.....the idea that there's a plan to turn the US into a "Pedo safe harbor-for-pay" actually isn't unbelievable in this timeline. In fact, it makes perfect sense. (a) Pedo billionaires get safe harbor. (b) Trump gets paid. (c) The US turns into an even more reprehensible shithole than it already is, but see (a) and (b), which are all that matter now.
  15. Oh, it's across the board, not just high-profile stuff, but it DOES also include high profile stuff. It absolutely affects the workaday blocking-and-tackling type cases the state AG routinely handles. Sure, there was always some turnover among the lower ranks (people come in, get some experience, leave for a better paying job in the private sector), but it's the rule now.
  16. Man. I gotta tell ya, I am DEFINITELY tired of all the winning. And I'm truly shocked. I mean, who woulda thought that functionally every economist in the world would be right on all of this, and a band of utter losers more focused on individual grift and creating self-serving insider wins would be wrong? Man, NEVER could have seen that coming.
  17. But not always rationally. "FOMO" investment is not necessarily a wise strategy.
